Help with behavioural issues 2 year old female.
Hello! :-) We have a two year old beautiful black Maine Coon. She is neutered and spoilt. Gets the best food and goes to the vet regularly. She gets attention, but has never been a cuddly cat, she likes her space. I used to brush her fur and she used to be fine with it even me carefully removing tangles, but today she hates it and at any attempt to even a careful one, she will lash out with claws or bite. I am too scared to do it anymore, so I have decided she will have to go to the vet and be put under to remove any tangles, I am not Not brushing her. The second thing she does is, if she decides she wants to be fed at night she will dive bomb our bedroom door over and over and make a lot of noise. Otherwise during the day she will wait for me to pass her feeding tray and catch me with her claws. And the last behavioural issue is her dive bombing my head while I sleep because she is bored. What I do not understand is why, when she gets all the food (could be so loved and cuddled if she wanted to) does she behave like this? I have had many cats but never one like this. We have tried to have her sit on our lap ever since she was a kitten, but that seems to be beneath her. I would stroke her if she did not bite and claw back, I know she is just playing, but it hurts me. Is she just young? Is this something she will grow out from? Any ideas of what I can do to make her calmer ?
