Finally bought a Xmas tree
After some 'slight' drama with hubby I managed to persuade him that a real Christmas tree would be a good idea for this year. After having a fake tree for 5 years, I thought a change would be nice. Plus I love the pine smell that it gives off, makes me all ready for Christmas.
BUT what a palaver though trying to get it home! I think I got over excited about bought an 8 ft tree instead of a 6! And he wasnt too happy having to squeeze it in the car!!!! When we got it home, he was covered in rashes because of all the needles, dirt all over the floor and having to re-pot it in a gigantic tub.... I must say that he was not a happy bunny. :o
But I still havent decorated it, I was far too tired wrestling with it for an hour and trying to get it into a gigantic tub. But, I still think its a great idea coz instead of throwing it away after Xmas we can replant it in the back garden and use it again next year.
Im full of great ideas you know.... he just wont admit it ;) heheAdd me on Facebook : Ria Brown

Nice tree! I got the Christmas decorations out yesterday, so now I'm officially ready for Christmas! We just put up a small fake tree, and hang lights and other decorations around the house, but with our Oriental Shorthair still in puberty and a kitten arriving next week, I didn't want to make the decorations too appealing to them. ;) Until now, the cats didn't even look at the decorations, so that's a good sign!:D

oh my goodness that is a huge tree! please post a pic when it is decorated, I am sure it will look fantastic! reminds me of when I was a child, my dad forbid my mum to get a real tree, needles all over the place and so on (it was the 70's!) so she went against his wishes and brought this huge tree home, it would not fit indoors, so my mum and a neighbour, decided to chop a bit off!!! only to chop the top lol it was still too big, so they chopped a bit from the bottom, so we were left with the middle, and my dad made her put it up and decorate it, she was like "no, my friends and family will laugh at it" his reply was " should of done what I said and got the normal one from the attic" I can't help but laugh when I see a real tree now, thinking back to the disaster we had, we had a great christmas though, and it was a talking point for years to come lol

LOL! That story make me chuckle, sounded like me and hubby yesterday, Ive been hinting for a couple of months now that I want a real tree. And he cant seem to understand why spend money on a tree that were just going to chuck away, while we have a perfectly good tree in the loft. But obviously, I won the argument and dragged him out yesterday, we both went in and he picked the 6 ft tree then he said he'll wait in the car and give him a shout when Im done paying.
Now, didnt he get a surprise when he went to load it up!!! Haha. I got excited and thought a 'bigger' one would look nice. Got it home after much huffing and puffing, obviously too tall to fit in the living room so he gave me a pair secateurs to trim the top. Im only 5'4 so you can imagine me trying to reach up, getting stabbed by those pines (secretly I think that was his revenge). Anyways managed to cut it down lol, now that its decorated it looks lovely, even he says so. Ill post some pics soon!Add me on Facebook : Ria Brown
