Clearly the four people here that are strong believers in feeding raw welcome no opinion or debate that dissents from their own and will go to great lengths to make you feel unwelcome as was done to me just about the moment I joined. Look at how Debbie560 asked me where I'd read that raw feeding could be dangerous, stating that she'd be interested to read it. When I posted it, as a newbie not knowing that no anti-raw material is allowed in the raw food "discussion", she edited her post as if she had never posed the question. I can only assume that she did this to either get the post removed because she didn't agree with the article or was trying to get me punted off the site altogether as someone who doesn't adhere to the rules. Then she decided to yell at me when I asked her why she'd do what she did to me instead of answering my question.
You will never change these people's hearts and minds and allowing them to goad you into an argument only makes it unpleasant for people who really do want to know both sides of the issue. I assume that's why there is a place for information on both sides where the other side cannot chime in.

Its not usual for all of a new members first 17 posts to all be on threads such as this one, and all the other ones where Candes has needed backing up. Your postings look rather familiar and I do believe that you are neither new to MC's or to this Forum.

Those are supplements and are regulated, when we hear about garlic given to cats it's in the raw form human grade that is not advised.

I'm not contributing to this anymore.... obviously our Canadian system is totally different that your stance in the U.K.

No-one is saying that you are not entitled to your opinion. That is a given in a mature debate and it's certainly not the issue here. However, several people have been concerned enough over the tone of your posts to come on here and voice their concerns. But I suppose you will think that people are just picking on you and ganging up on you, blah blah blah...I don't know why I'm bothering.

Could I just remind everyone not to believe all that you read on the internet when looking at articles re any feeding / diet for cats. Several are fake and there are actually people out there who deliberately set out to harm animals. I am not saying that anyone on here would do this but as I am Trustee of an Animal Rescue Charity and run a cat rescue it is something that I come up against all the time

As an example, one lovely gentleman contacted me recently after reading a website that was apparently written by a scientist and he was really worried that he may have harmed his cats. Having looked at the website that he was talking about it became clear that far from the research by a Scientist it was simply one persons opinion with the odd piece of misquoted research thrown in to back the writer up. The author claims to be a scientist yet they do not put their name to the site which in itself rings alarm bells. The site is a poor quality and looks like it has been done at home using one of the free website builder tools. Read it for yourself

Yes I have come across CatScience.info - the author posted it on another forum where fortunately no-one was convinced and he was soon accused of trolling.

Turns out the author is our old friend NCarver. For those who don't know, he was perhaps the most aggressive of the anti-raw camp during last year's debate, and he was eventually banned from this forum. He was very fond of telling people he was a scientist, and when pressed revealed he was a computer scientist, and therefore had no particular inside information or authority on the pet food industry, although he preferred to give that impression for as long as possible. I agree that his website is pretty poor for an expert in the computing field.

OMG! I had no idea, I thought it was just another hoax site. I even posted it on my rescue website to warn people off it. Oh dear. *shivers at the memory of those bad old days* thankfully he is now gone from here although I do remember he had multiple accounts at the time and liked to agree with himself on threads. I really hope this is not de ja vue

No its not tit for tat, and NCarver had more than one profile and admitted to it.

And as for hostility you are the one who causes it, this Forum was a fun place to be where people could ask questions and get advice without fear of over bearing posts being thrown back at them while you were absent. And as everyone else seems to have grasped apart from you - yes I have two profiles on here and yes I have been logged on whilst not posting so have still read everything. I take it that you are aware that you can view everything on this Forum apart from Intros without actually logging in.

If I were out to get someone on this Forum Candes it would certainly not be you. Sincere apologies if that prevents you bieng the center of attention but there are cats in desperate need and supposed caring breeders on here who are no who or what they appear to be. I will not name the person but I have personally seen the same cat sold to at least 3 different people on here and none actually has the cat who has changed his prefix but ............... unlike otherrs I am not a bitch so wont post it
