Running off with the wet dish cloth, HA HA!! MCs do sound full of mischief and suprises!! Oscar will put his paws in his water bowl, and stand in the doorway if you are having a bath, but will run away if you put a tap on!! Do you think that he will get more daring with water as he grows?

Bubba (RIP) was a chow hound. (sorry...)
He'd gobble down most anything he saw anything else eat.
It's tough to ignore a 25Lb cat who is demanding a share of what's on your plate.
From your lap.
The only thing he didn't like to eat was mushrooms. He'd spit those out to the side...

Larry likes to get his face in my teacup and will drink some if it's not too hot!
When he has been given (or has stolen) a titbit he takes it in his mouth and runs off with it. When Monty comes up to investigate, Larry makes a terrible growling noise! (and vice versa). It's the only time they growl - when there's a morsel of food at stake (even though there's always some dry food in their dishes). I guess it's their survival instincts being played out. It's so funny to hear it!
We have learned that it's wise not to give them cheese crumbs...afterwards the smell is terrible and enough to clear the room...(if you follow me).

Hahha.. this thread is great and reassuring. This week, Chester has discovered that he likes: pumpkin soup!!! He has been known to go crazy when there's cheese around and he loves trying to get his paw into my porridge!
As I lean over to get items from the fridge, he now climbs onto my back to inspect what I retrieve!

There seems to be no flies on a maine coon, does there? especially where food is concerned, they wont miss a trick!! Today I have discovered that Oscar likes strawberry yoghurt, a little bit of biscuit, a sniff at a water melon, and my daughter spilt a little blackcurrant squash on herself, which he was also happy to lick up, ohh the joy of having an MC!!

This has been a most amusing and enlightening thread - I've been so paranoid about letting Freyja eat non-cat food (aside from plain chicken, salmon or tuna) that she's not been allowed anything else. Admittedly, we did let her have a little tiny bit of rice pudding, and both she and we paid a high price for it which made me more paranoid. I'll have to relax a little and let her try the odd nibble of something new from time to time. Warning about cheese taken on board too!
