Felidae cat food
Does anyone feed Felidae to their Coonies?
Here are links to some Felidae canned food... they offer dry too:
CANIDAE® All Natural Holistic Cat Food - Cat & Kitten canned formula
CANIDAE® All Natural Holistic Cat Food - Chicken & Rice canned formula
I have seen some good reviews for the food, but can't seem to find anyone on here (using the search) that has fed Felidae.
What do you think to the ingredients, etc?
Thanks

Hi Meredith and welcome aboard.
How's the gorgeous enzo doing?
Haven't heard of the food - ingredients look ok but still have rice in which isn't a necessary part of a cats diet. May be that it's a little bit gimmicky. How is the price?
What food are you currently feeding?
Louise

Hello!
Enzo is doing wonderful!!
The price is pretty good! Would cost about $40 a month to feed Enzo - the little piggy!
Enzo is currently on Bozita... but I cannot find it for sale here in the states.

Never seen nor heard of Bozita in the US.
I do not recall seeing Canidae around, but there are so many cat foods here.... Many of the "high end" cat foods in the US have some brown rice in them to provide fiber. I see that the dry version lists "chicken meal" as the primary ingredient and 32% protein. Some good dry foods have plain chicken as primary ingredient and 40% or greater protein. Chicken meal and 32% is not really any better than many bargain brands, so why pay more for it?
The drys we are feeding our four MCs are:
(1) Purina Pro Plan Selects Natural Chicken & Brown Rice Formula - Products - Purina Pro Plan
(2) Blue Wilderness BLUE Wilderness High Protein Healthy Cat Food
(3) Wellness Core Wellness CORE® Fish & Fowl for Adult Cats & Kittens
The reason we feed three is Purina was first but then tried Blue and one of the four completely switched to it. They recently reformulated and now the other cats are also eating it some. Wellness has the highest protein and our breeder was using it, but the cats generally will not eat much of it (though have eaten some recently).
As for canned food, which they also get, they eat almost exclusively Fancy Feast. Every cat we have ever had, once they had Fancy Feast they refused to eat almost anything else. We have tried more than a dozen gourmet and high end cat foods, but they will never eat more than one or two cans before completely refusing.
