Thread: stud tail ?

Well my poor little Rusty has been pulling fur out his tail now for about 3 weeks but I didn't realise until about a week ago. I had his man bits removed soon after I noticed this as he was just over 8 months anyway his tail was getting oily/waxy about 4" from his back where he was pulling it out from so I put it down to stiud tail . If I wash his tail he doesn't touch it for about 24 hours and as soon as it starts to get a little oily off he goes , its as if he thinks theres something stuck to his tail so he removes it ! His skin has bin ok where he's removed the fur but I did notice yesterday night when I was cleaning him it is starting to get a bit blotchy (light brown) , he's not had any changes to his diet but I did change his litter to cats best which I have changed back to be on the safe side , I'm very sure he's not stressed so I could only put it down to stud tail but I'm no vet .Anyway i think I've left it a little late to cure by my self so he's going to the vets later . Any advice or experience with this would be helpful
