Fleas!
Unfortunately this sad day has come and I have just found a flea on Roark. I've washed him with flea shampoo and put Frontline on him (although I don't know how much actually wound up on his skin) and then tried to spray him.
The problem I am having is that he doesn't sit still and it is impossible to get them off him and to brush him with a fine tooth comb. I haven't found any on my white bedding though, hopefully that is a good sign?
Any tips would be appreciated.

Oh dear...
Ours had fleas two years ago and this is how we got rid of them:
- We did not bathe or spray them. Just used a pipette of Advantage (Advantix) on the back of their necks. The vet told us to use Advantage because Frontline seems to have lost its efficacy.
- The next couple of days I vacuumed the entire house daily, and each time threw the vacuum bag, tightly sealed in a plastic bag, in the outdoors dustbin.
Never seen a flea since.
Good luck!

I have had trouble with fleas this year, even after treatment with the Frontline pipette. Previously this has served us well, but this year the Frontline made no difference. So following Antonia's advice, I got some Advantage pipettes which - hoorah! - did the job.
It helps that we have very little fitted carpet in the house and we hoover every day to get rid of the fluff.

had this problem last year - used stronghold as our dermatolgist recommends this , then locked the cats in their room during the day and sprayed the whole house ( except their room ) with innorex, when they came out that evening sprayed there room and closed it up for an hour ... the important thing is to keep up any treatment on the cats , when they say monthly or 5 weekly it does unfortunately need to be done that often

Is it a problem if I can't get a fine tooth comb near him to brush them out?

We had a similar problem with Darcie-lu, but the Frontline was totally useless & she tore out most of her back leg fur. The vet gave us Activyl spot for all cats, & a large can of Indorex spray for the whole house. Worked a treat. Dont know whats going wrong with the Frontline, but I did hear that they had altered the ingredients so that may be the reason.

I used to use Frontline on my dogs then last year one of them had a very nasty reaction to the pipette. I phoned Frontline and explained the reaction and was told it happens quite a lot! I haven't used it since. The breeder of my MC boy also told me not to use frontline because it no longer seems to work. I have used stronghold which is good and have advocate for my kitten, which also kills worms.
