Glad ginger is home and hope she's recovering well. We didn't use the collars on our 2 girls and they were fine. Think the collars would have spooked them more! Was hard to keep them from running around and jumping though!

Thank you for the comments everyone! I slept in the family room on the couch on my back last night, so my baby had someone to cuddle with! She seems to be doing fine, this am. she really wants to lick, but the collar does not allow it. Poor Neevie! I did not know that my girl was starting her cycle, she had no signs or symptoms yet. I guess the vet knew when she got into surgery. She is such a sweetheart, everyone there said how much they loved her <3 So I am praying this will be just fine!

Ginger is starting to feel better, and I think her mission is to get that collar off her head! She has rubbed against all of the furniture and even the patio door glass. I have been feeding her with my hand and she only confuses my finger for food once in a while I think I am going to have a very spoiled girl on my hands in two weeks. She loves to crawl up on my chest and snuggle in for a nap! Gotta love them MCs

Janie, Ginger is not as active as usual and it may have be due to the pain meds or the fact that she can't run around like a crazy little monster =^..^= The vet made it clear that I should not take off her collar :( her incision looks good, so maybe in a few days I will take it off, she really does not like it. Luckily I am at home with her or I would be worried that she would get herself stuck behind the furniture. Every day is one day closer to getting back to normal!

I decided to take ginger's cone off for a while and she gave her self a good bath! Then she decided to investigate her incision, lick, lick, lick, so I put the collar back on her head. The vet said no jumping for a while, so we put her tower in the spare room. I know she is starting to feel better as she is standing on everything in the house for example....
<---- look at me mommy, I am so tall!

Today is day 7, since Ginger got spayed! She is doing quite well and now I know where she is because I hear her E collar doink on everything she passes! She is not sure how big the collar is! My poor little baby. She is enjoying looking out the window of the patio door, as the birds and other assorted animals are returning. I have a few bird feeders and squirrel feeders out in my back yard. I am an equal opportunity animal lover If it flies, hops or runs through my yard there is food to eat. I can not wait to take her collar off for good! Maybe this Saturday.
