    Summer eating habits

Just wondering if anyone else is has noticed a change to their MC's eating habits in this weather?

We always leave kibble out in the bowl attached to the water fountain and they normally have three pouches of whiskas kitten a day (but only the gravy one they turn their noses up at chunks in jelly) but at the moment all they are doing is eating the kibble and licking the gravy off the meat and then leaving the meat. They have only started doing this since the weather got warmer.

No other changes in any way we still have wacky races a couple of times a day and they are loving being allowed outside with us especially now they have discovered flies!!!

Lovely this weather isn't it! We have all the doors and windows open at the moment and Simba is lying on the sofa in the cool of the living room - sensible cat staying out of the sun! I usually leave Simba's food on a windowsill so the dogs can't get it, but now it gets hot in the sun so I have had to move it. He likes it somewhere cool. He only has biscuits though so I wouldn't notice any change - I kept trying him on all sorts of wet food but he never wanted it.

Louie is still eating for england but is asking more for his dry food, we have to keep it seperate from the rest as they cant chew it so bring it straight back but they all have'nt botherd with their wet food through the day so Ive just been putting it down at night when its cooler

There's suppose to be alot of sugar & not alot of meat in Whiskers food so they may just have gone off it, Louie loved it when we had to get some as they had no Purley left so I suppose its like KFC for cats

    Summer eating habits

Mine are mostly wet food eaters but I find that they all eat less at breakfast time when it is hot but do "ask" for more at night when they are put to bed.
Not so good in the morning though, more input at night means that you need a wheelbarrow to muck the trays out .....
I like it better when it is evened out over the course of the day, must not complain though,we have waited a long while for this super weather so will continue with the s*** shoveling before I have breakfast !

My coonie and my moggies have totally gone off their food at the mo. Just licking the jelly and eating their seperate biscuits. To be honest all they seem interested in is lying upside down on the cool kitchen floor!!!

Yeah same here totally off the wet food, although they did eat a tin of tuna today and their dry biscuits. Wish the weather would help me lose my appetite ;)

Gryfn only likes the gravy... he licks all the gravy off and leaves the meat... and it's winter here...

This is my first summer with a Coonie kitten so I'm no expert - Freyja gets two wet pouches a day (or a chicken breast or coley block instead of a pouch) and kibble left down all day to snack on, and her appetite has definately not reduced in this heat! Mind you, she's just turned four months old and regular burns off huge amounts energy galloping up and down our 3 flights of stairs, so she might not be the best comparison!
