Walter's visit to the vet
Yesterday, I took Walter to the vet to get him weighed. My daughter (who doesn't live at home, so Walter isn't familiar with her) was working so she took Walter from me, weighed him, and then proceeded to give us a complete tour of the facility. (I was impressed by how clean everything was on a regular work day [as opposed to an open house day] and how much equipment they have like centrifuges, blood analyser, autoclaves, x-ray, ultrasound, etc.)
My daughter continued to hold Walter as he encountered a lot of different people (at least a dozen, I'd guess) and quite a few dogs and cats, including some dogs barking in the kennel section that were so loud we could barely hear each other. Walter didn't squirm or show any signs of stress except for a brief moment, after she set him on a counter and he wandered over to some cat beds (for clinic cats) and apparently smelled too many cat smells. I was so proud of how well he handled things!
He got loads of compliments. People liked his markings, his big paws, his lynx ear tips, how silky soft he felt, how big he is for his age, how well he handled all the people and animals, etc. He was even sufficiently comfortable to eat some snacks my daughter offered him!
Too bad he couldn't have been so calm when I tried to get some pictures of him yesterday!
