    Cat Tree?

Do any of you have a cat tree?

We're thinking about getting this one

We're getting a new kitten in a few months and figured with Gabe, Darcy, and a new furbaby maybe we should get a tree

The Armarkat trees are pretty reasonably priced for what you get, but they are not really designed for cats as large as male MCs. We have the following model:
Cat Tree Parts - B8201 Parts - Armarkat.com - Cat Furniture, Cat tree, Dog Bed, Cat Bed

As the males have grown, I have gradually had to modify the unit to make it so they can still use it and so it is stable. Luckily they sell parts, so I have bought additional parts to make modifications.

For instance, they outgrew the houses, and the top house (G) was not large enough for the males to lie on top of, so that got removed. They love the elevated shelves, but got too big for those as well. My solution was to bolt two together and use spare post to put them up on the RHS, while removing the LHS shelf. The stairs (E) no longer worked so removed that and used it to reinforce shelf D, after 23 lb Remy jumped down on it and I heard it crack! Finally, added an additional post down to the floor under large RHS shelf to help steady the unit when the boys jump up on the elevated shelves. Whoo! Have it quite stable and secure now, though, and they use it all the time.

Thanks for the info. Darcy is only 11.5 lbs and Gabriel is a normal housecat so I don't think we have to worry about anything breaking like with your boys.

I think we'll go with the one linked but thank you for the website! Now if we need to add on to make it more stable we know where to get parts

Our MC girls, 12 and 14 lbs, have never had any problems, so you should be fine.
