Long time ago I had Siberian cat, but I don't remember her following me everywhere.
Or may be my memories faded? My coonies never leave me and my husband alone, even when we need privacy (they bang on the door and loudly mewow until the bedroom door is open)
I feel like being followed by a CIA agent who never leaves me alone no matter what I do.
I am pretty sure all of your coonies do the same, but wonder about other breeds. Is "shadowing" a purely Maincoon trait? Do moggies also follow you?
Oh yes, Dudley and Sylvester are just the same... but Dudley is definitely the most persistent of the two. He's always under my feet- I have to be really careful that I don't kick him by accident. He 'helps' me cook and loves to help sweep the floor. I was painting a wall at the weekend and that proved really difficult with Dudley around! They aren't so bad at night and will settle to sleep on the bathroom floor if we keep our door shut. Sylvester slept on my pillow last night however and woke me up hacking up a hairball in the middle of the night :LOL:. not the nicest of ways to be woken up!
Definately a Maine coon trait - wherever I am there is always a coonie there too!!
Yes the MC is very nosy and wants to know what it is you're doing. My 2 will put themselves between me and whatever tool I am trying to use, and start sniffing and snaking around. If I really want to get on, I have to shut them in another room! Usually though, I just accept that I'm going to get interrupted!
Sebastian also follows me everywhere,but then my 3 moggies do to!It can get quite embarrassing,one day i was doing a leaflet dop for my aunties hairdressing salon and all 3 followed me all around our housing estate AND the neighbouring estates and then back home.I felt like the pied piper!!:LOL:
Ever since we got Alfie he has been my 'shadow'. He is a mummys boy! The other two are just as bad and I can never visit the toilet without a furry companion to make sure I'm doing it right! Sometimes I feel like a bit of a cat-magnet. Wherever I am in the house they will all gravitate to that room and place themselves near me, on the arm of the sofa, next to me, by my feet. They are very nosy, but the house would be very boring without them :LOL:
Lily follows me everywhere as well, not the husband, I seem to be the favourite, much to husbands disgust. The other one is the same, not shadowing, but she always comes to me
But he is not the one who feeds them and fusses them everytime they are within reach.
I am always cuddling, playing and fussing them
This is very funny! Maincoon taught moggies and led the pack. If you had moggies without Maincoon would they also follow you everywhere?Quote:

Schrödinger always makes sure he's in what ever room your in. bedroom, kitchen, sitting room.... toilet!!! he seems to get the grumps some times too as when he's trying to get some sleep and I move rooms he gets up, settles himself again in the next room then gives you the evil eye as if you did it on purpose :LOL: telling you, these cats have a serious OCD problem :LOL:
Speaking of "helping". After getting the windows replaced and then the re-org of the bedroom after he helped by washing my hair (and swatting my head for imaginary flys) while i was cabling under the desk (with him on top of it)... what a guy! :rofl:
