How many
We went from one to two in minutes {still not so bad as Peter ending up with three}
I went to see Shimba & Welly came & sat by me just staring, breeder said he wants to come with you as well, hubby was washing his hands at that point, when he came in Welly went straight to him & told him he was the one, which hubby believed until I said no I am holding ours, rest is history but so pleased that he did choose to belong to us along with his bruv.....

Well - it goes like this
I started with 1 - Sarah
I then just had to have another - Zack
I have just organised to get the 3rd - "Boris" He is a black and white and I will get him in a couple of months. The Breeders are going to do a couple of shows with him then he will come over for me to show.
Here he is after he had been playing in his tray.
My mother thought he was an unusual colour - I had to explain it was just 'dirt'
This will make 4 in total as I have an 8yr old DLH as well
You just cant seem to stay at 1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Boris is a cutie Heather,I am sure he will do well on the show circuit, how did the breeder manage to get him white again{although it does make you giggle to see his innocent expression} I end up in tears when Welly gets his back socks looking like that the day before a show.....
After reading how you came to tot up your numbers I think I now know why I can't soften hubby up to go back to six in number.
1st Adult retired breeding queen. RIP
2nd Baby a year later ,because as you rightly said one MC not enough.
3rd Baby flat chested sis to one above needing good home out of next same mating,it
was hubby who said yes to her but as she turned out half pint size & adorable so pleased that she joined us.
4th Baby who was of colour & pattern that I had wanted for over four years. He came
& joined us & turned out huge so in size made up for the smallness of half pint.
5th Baby, three years later due to 4th babe retiring from show scene but as stated
6th Baby within minutes of 5th.
Now here is where I think I shot myself in the foot, after having the two together I said that how I wish I had done it that way before because it was so much fun watching them both & IF EVER we had anymore would luv to do the same again.
Now isn't that great, you tell him something & five minutes later he's forgotten it, no,no you never told me...this happened over three years ago & he aint b***y forgot that.So I think the idea of six is ok but perhaps seven is one MC too many for him & he is not going to risk it !

Haha Jackie it's the famous 'selective memory' you have fallen foul of there!
By the way, I've often wondered, what do you mean by flat-chested? On a cat? I've never really got that...

How many
Hi Loisa.proper name for it is Pectus Excavatum ....! It is a deformity of the ribs & sternum
at birth & that means the chest is flat, some are not too bad, some quite severe & quite a few do die, because of the flat chest it can cause all types of problems including bad breathing. The ones that are not too bad can end up perfectly normal the ribs seem to come round back into shape,Pansy P is still quite flat, you can feel a dip where her sternum is & because she was quite bad some of her main organs are displaced further down into the abdomen. When we first had her we were not really expecting her to be with us as long as this, she had breathing problems as she grew because the organs were getting squashed, she used to get very choked up so I treated her as if she had cystic fibrosis, every day at least twice sometimes more I would pat her up & down her back until she coughed up any fluids ,I used to tell her she was a good girl if she had big coughs & brought it up,if she used to just do silly little noises I would stand there coughing & telling her that is what she had to do then pat away again until I got the big one,I done that daily for well over two years & she did improve a lot, now she hardly ever needs it but if she does she will come & pat me on the back of the knee & make little coughing noises & I just pick her up & off we go with the old routine, also her heart beat is a lot higher than normal, when she has her mad moments she will suddenly flop & her sides heave trying to get the air in but after a few minutes rest she is off again. In the early days I intended to keep her quiet but then I realised how stupid that was, quality is better than quantity & if she pops off having a mad moment I know that right up to that point she has had a happy fullfilled life. She is a real little trooper & I am really pleased that hubby overuled me when I first said no,I was being selfish & didn't intend to bond with her but by the time we got her home I knew if we had lost her that night I would have been heartbroken. What is really great though is the fact that when she is off colour big bruv Bruce just stays with her & won't leave her side, when everything is ok they end up having fistipaws.....

Thanks for explaining Jackie. It's wonderful what you've done with her, many people would have backed away from such a serious medical condition as that. It just shows that with the right loving home a 'disabled' cat can have a perfectly good quality of life. Some friends of ours had a moggy from a shelter who was fit and well for years until he was hit by a car and broke his pelvis. He recovered but nerve damage left him unable to 'go', so for the rest of his life they had to assist him daily with this, (not at all sure how this works). What commitment from them, I suppose some would have put him down but they gave him a good life for his last years and this rather unpleasant job just became part of their routine.
