Neutering/Spaying
Hi I posted this in another part of the forum and haven't had any response so thought maybe I'd put it in the wrong place - so forgive if you've already read it
I really need to take Noah and Flo down to get sorted very soon. I'm putting it off a bit because I am a little anxious about Flo. Has anyone else had a boy and a girl kitten done at the same time? Any advice?

There's no problem with getting them done at the same time but it will be harder on your girl that your boy so I would make sure she has somewhere peaceful and clam for the first couple of days at least. Boys normally don't even act like they've had anything done.
The problem you may have is that your boy may try to wash your girl's wound so the vet may suggest trying to bandage around it to prevent that.
It is a very straightforward procedure though so try not to worry

Neutering
We have brothers & sisters come into work nearly every week & have not known any problems, lot easier starving them both together anyway plus none of the not liking the smell of the other one on return from the vets, our vets now use a method on the girls where they run the suture under the skin so there isn't individual stitches for either the girl or any helpful sibling to get hold of but even when they did use to do the other way can't remember any major problems.Good luck for that nerve wrecking day....

We had our two done at the same time on the advice of my tame vet (shame his practice is in Malvern and we are in Stoke!) After he had finished laughing at me via email when I asked him about the difference between boy and girl kittens, not to mention what I can only call kitten porn at nine am (Rufus was actually Roxy) his words were 'they have no concept of incest so get them done at about six months'. I have to say that I had a worse day than they did, Dot the nurse at the practice had to almost peel my fingers off the carrier The worst part for them was being starved - never come between Hector and his breakfast.
When they came home they ate and then ran around as normal giving me heart stopping moments, then demanded more food.
Roxy had a stich in her side but it never had any problems and the vet took it out a week later.

Thanks for all the re-assuring replies. I'll take a deep breath and book that appointment this afternoon!
