Toilet Habit Help!!!!!!!!!

OK, so when she is left alone, there are 2 other cats for company. But, given that there are 2 other cats in the house, could she be establishing a territory, in the most inappropriate of places? If a cat doesn't cover its business, it is deliberately trying to leave a smell as a signal to other cats. Is this dominant behaviour?
I still think that the solution could be to isolate her, or at least shut her firmly out of the kitchen, when you are not around, until she learns appropriate toilet habits.

It could be, she knows its wrong as she runs away after you have found it!!

She will bury it in the traym but also has the dirty habit of taking the other cats poo out of the tray in her mouth and watching the other two while they go!!

I think we will try keeping her in another room with her own tray, food etc and hope she doesn't fo it on the carpet!!!

Mum that is a bit personal but brilliant,bless him,all that scratching trying to still cover,loved it when the toilet roll went flying....x

What about cleaning worktops and floors with a cleaner containing ammonia? Urine contains ammonia and it might confuse her into thinking that these areas are dirty- she might not want to toilet in them then?

Oh and by the way, we are having similar probs but using tge litter kwitter. They pee in it just fine but sometimes poop on the floor. Most of the times they've done this the litter kwitter has been already soiled in some way. Maybe she's extra fussy about her litter tray?

Winston, that is AMAZING! I am soooo impressed! My two have a thing about the toilet, so maybe I should look at training them? Any tips? What product did you use, how old was he when you started etc etc etc?

Sian: I used the litter kwitter and started training him from the moment he arrived from the breeders jan/feb 2010.
Tips: You need lots of patience and the cat/kitten really needs to have somebody in the house at all times during the training process. You really do have to be committed for this to work. My husband and I work different shifts so there was always somebody there to tell him to go to the bathroom. There was lots of answering back :LOL:

It is alot slower then you think. One year later we are still on the green stage. The reason is we went too fast in the beginning and had to move back a stage. He is happy on the green stage and we are happy we don't have a litter tray to clean out. Eventually I hope to get rid of green....one of these days :koolkat:

I would imagine that training 2 cats would be extremly difficult!

Hmmm ... well I guess all I can do is try eh? They are both fascinated with the toilet - I get no peace in my house and have to put the lid down to stop them jumping up on it - instead they just lie on the top of it lol!
