I have Jones' food bowls on the floor in the kitchen and his litter box sits in the corner of the hallway which is handily right by the bathroom door.

I'm having a bit of a conundrum with this as well. I can't put them in the kitchen as the dog sleeps in there and he'll eat from probably both of them (blegh!), the bathroom doors close themselves so no use for litter tray, the hall is very narrow and I'm sure my son will end up falling over anything. Only place I can think is livingroom or our bedroom! lol

Could the food bowls go up on the kitchen counter top if you have space? Or is your dog big enough to reach up there?
Obviously you then have cats all over your countertops at feeding time, but a few germs here and there are good for the ol' immune system!

I think that's what will have to happen, not sure how well he'll do jumping up there at 13-14 weeks old though, I'm guessing he'll manage. lol! The dog wouldn't be able to reach if i put the food at the back of the worktop. I think the litter tray will have to go in the living room, although I don't like the thought of that I suppose if i keep it clean we'll be fine. Wouldn't like him to drop a load while I'm eating my supper though. haha!

I shouldn't worry about him getting to the food, if he can't make the jump he'll be sure to call for a leg up!
Can't help with the litter tray though, we've got a covered one, which does a good job of minimising the general litter tray smell, but is still ineffective against a freshly deposited poo!

We have a litter tray under the stairs (open stairs), one in the hallway and one in the bedroom, we have food/water stations in the kitchen and bedroom. Jiminy has to be shut in the bedroom when we go out as hes so naughty he'd destroy the house if we left him out, Tabitha my somali is left to roam around the house when we're out as shes rather old and really well behaved.

I have the covered litter tray in the bathroom, I just thought it would be good to keep all toilet smells in one place, plus my bathroom floor is tiled - good for cleaning. My two boys share one toilet and I've had no problems with that at all - they've learnt to queue and they seem to wait until I need to go, so we all go together!!
Their food is on the kitchen floor and I've completely lost the kitchen counter top battle. They have the run of the kitchen including jumping up on top of the high wall units from the counters. I just use a system of wooden and plastic cutting boards that I get out of the cupboard when I prepare human food. I did try, but they beat me - the last straw was when I read the tip about kitchen foil. I spread it all out on to the counters and went to watch some TV, when I came back, they were both lying on it and licking the corners!!

We have both the girls' and boys' food downstairs in the kitchen. The girls are too young to go outside like the boys do for the toilet, so I have one of the igloo-type litter trays in my bedroom under a dressing table so it's quite private for them.
