We think we're going to have to take off all the paper in the small area of the kitchen which has it - he's been taking bits off the wall really badly. I could kill him sometimes but then he does something cute...

Dave's parents met him for the second time yesterday...he's totally won them over now, Dave's mum was picking him up! And even his sister likes him. I'm feeling quite smug... :P
We will be decorating the sitting room later this year so tell Teddy to back his bag & favourite toy,there is rather a lot of paper to get off.....Quote:

Sorry I've been a bit MIA! I went home for just under a week and we've been busy doing things around the flat!
I thought I'd give a little update on our Ted :)
He's not been sick at all recently - we just make sure he doesn't get wet food after eating tons of biscuits. We gave him a couple of grilled prawns last week too - he was confused initially but he enjoyed them so much that he tried to nick the ones I was eating too! I read on here that Peter's little guys had teeth problems and that it was more common in reds...would giving him prawns occasionally help as they're more chewy? (stupid question?!)
He's going to be neutered on Friday...poor thing won't know what's hit him! I'm pretty sure he'll be more miffed about being starved than losing his ability to procreate though! He tortures us in the morning to feed him so I think we're going to leave him in early.
I'm not sure how the whole process works - will he be sitting in a cage for ages? It's a small practice and it's just down the road so he won't have a long journey to the vets or home.

He'll be fine! Mine were actually fine once I broke the ritual of breakfast - I just ignored it and they were fine after a couple of minutes of confusion. In terms of the vet, I can't comment - I think others can. But he will be fine!
As for the teeth, they are going back for a check-up on Saturday, but since they have been home and after a couple of days to let their mouths recover after cleaning and stuff, they had some beef jerky this morning to play/chew and they were interested enough to encourage me that dog chew stuff is OK for them ;)

did they not give you a time to have him in by,we have pre op appointments where we check heart & temperature while you are still there as obviously any problem they would be on their way home,some come in at start of surgery others near the end,normally depends on if the owners have to get to work or not,cats don't normally seem a bit bothered though,some take to laying in their litter tray & go to sleep,others sit & watch the world go by & some every time you go past you have to open the pen door & give them a cuddle or head scrub.We start operating at 11.30 ish on cat day so they might have been in for 3 hrs or only half an hour,never notice any stress difference in the cats that have been in longer,we always do the girls first followed by boys but even if they are not done until an hour or so later mostly they are ready to go home from about 3pm,having had a few more cuddles before that of course...

Jackie - he's not wearing a yellow feather - he has a feather toy which he decided to destroy!
We've taken the food away now and he's going in between 8.30 and 11 tomorrow morning. Would it be best to leave it as late as possible? We can drop him in anytime. It's only a small practice so I don't know if they'd be doing any other castrations tomorrow.
I'm still being all worried and silly! I hope everything goes okay!

Teddy's had a dog chew since we got him as our breeder told us to give him some but he's totally disinterested!

lovely pics ....nice to see what my red may well turn out like ....providing the other monster stops....eating his whiskers and chewing his tail and beating all the hair off his tummy.!!!!!! If he ernie keeps beating eric up we will have a bald red cat !!
Teddy's brother had chewed quite a lot of his whiskers off when we got him!
Happy half birthday to Teddy today :) he's celebrating by toppling over the clothes dryer with lots of socks on it...
