"Fetch!" with a twist - more "Steal!"

Hmm. Got up this morning, bathroom, get dressed for the cycle in, start clearing up floor in bedroom (again). Why have I only got one Coverse trainer on the floor ? Is the other under the bed ? No, erm.. Oh.

Ask housemate who is downstairs doing her hair: "Did I leave a shoe in the hall?"

With zero hint of suprise: "No. One of them ran downstairs with it and ran into the back room."

"Which one?" "Dicky, I think".

A whole shoe is getting a bit big.

What's the biggest items your fuzzy overlords have run away with - and I mean *run* not drag like a carcass... ?

Nope can't beat that one in weight the only thing that Welly got caught out on once was "length"that wouldn't give,if he can get hold of one of his feather play sticks he makes a bee line for the pen because he knows we won't let him have it as he plucks them double quick & of course because the handles are quite bendy on them he dives through the flap & said toy bends round him & goes out with him well one particular day he got hold of my feather duster with of course wooden handle & he came to an almighty timely stop when he tried to get that out through the flap in a hurry,that wouldn't work so went for the patio doors that were sorry to say not open wide enough to go through head on so got round it by going out through door sideways like a crab,now that was clever thinking for a boy MC so after being tickled pink watching his antics just had to let him kill the duster a bit & pluck a few feathers out...!
Just wait until one of your other boys think it is great fun & said trainers end up in two different rooms..x

Have you got to the stage where you have to check your shoes or as in our house work boots before you put them on? The OH always has to check for things in his! I don't know if you will have this problem though Peter as it's Roxy who hides things in shoes Hector never has as far as we can tell!

It's a girl thing, she loves shoes and handbags!!!

These cats never cease to amaze me.

Raggles can easily manage a trainer, but Tia managed to jump up onto the bed yesterday with one of the wife's cuddly toys.
It is a white bear which is easily 3/4's here size. I will post a picture when I get home from work!

Nope, can't top that Peter! Larry likes to remove dishcloths and green scrubbers from the sink area, so that when I wash up I'm always looking around for them. I usually find them in the garden or in the living room - or in our shoes! When it comes to larger objects, rather than carrying them around, my lads specialise in knocking them off the table or counter. They've done the teapot, the butter dish, and a very large fruit bowl. But now that the weather is good, they're outside for most of the day so they wreak havoc out there instead. A couple of weeks ago in the middle of a wild game, they actually knocked over the garden table - crash! and it was upside-down on the patio.

Can't beat that one either! Rasputin's favourite trick at the moment seems to be pawing all the books off the bookshelves...

We had an easter egg box in the living room around 6 x 8 x 3 inches, my nan had glued a little yellow chick on the top of it and my oh had filled it to the top with chocolate bars so it was rather heavy, Jiminy wandered over to it, sniffed the chick and just picked it up by the chick and walked off with it lol

Nothing vanishes here at all! Mufasa is quite lazy and the only thing he manages to 'pinch' are our warm seats when we get up from them. I do agree with Helen and John's post though, we always find some RC kibble in our shoes when we put them on! Maybe it's for our lunch?

A converse?! Good lord! Imagine what those three could shift if they worked together?

Teddy's a bit little for that and thankfully he hasn't taken too much of an interest in my shoes! He does like to pinch my make up though - especially eye and lip liners (he LOVES anything that looks like a pen). He always gets them stuck between the floorboards and things! He also likes to try and pick up my nail polishes but they're too slippery for his paws! He likes to carry his little mice around.

Not my MC but one of my old moggys came home once with a joint of pork, nicely roasted :LOL: I will admit to shutting the doors and windows and hiding for several days.

After reading this thread I am now dreading what Buddy might get up to in the future *gulp*

There's a cat show on "Animal Planet" and there was a kleptomaniac cat in San Mateo, California who went on nightly raid into the neighborhood and stole all kinds of stuff, gloves, towels, shoes, anything he could drag home he'd steal.
They set a up night vision camera in the front yard to catch him bringing home his loot.
They finally had to set up an event on the week ends for neighbors to come by and reclaim their missing belongings

That's quite sweet. A garage sale but without any money ;)

We now suspect he dragged it by one of the laces, but still. Dicky. Sigh.

I was playing fetch with Walter last night. When I threw his crinkle ball (his fav toy for fetch) on the bed, he took off with a chirrup (normal for him), went running up to the foot of the bed and made a flying jump -- and didn't clear the rail on the footboard! He fell backwards to the carpet (mostly on his back). I couldn't help but laughing at the klutziness.:LOL:

For the remainder of the fetch session, Walter was much more circumspect about jumping up on the bed. (I told him he was going to be expelled from the Cat Union for being so clumsy, but I don't think he understood.) I wonder if he'll remember when we play next time?

Impressive! How about this then. One of our old moggies Percy once brought home a live rabbit! I was at work, but the OH thought he was hallucinating. After many enquiries, we found out the rabbit was sold to one of the neighbours by the local pet shop, and the owner came round to collect him. He blamed himself for forgetting to shut the rabbit in the hutch, and he even brought us a bottle of wine to say thank you.
Then a week later, the rabbit died from delayed shock! :sad1:

I love these stories! I'm glad Teddy's an indoor cat - at least it's only us he can steal from!

Raggles took the biscuit, well the tin this morning.

I was feeding Little Dot and heard a noise behind me.
There was Raggles walking past with a "mini" tin of cat food in his mouth!!

He hasn't figured out how to open it yet ? Huh!

He must have really wanted his breakfast!!

Actually, looking at some of the fangs I have seen on grown MCs I am coming to suspect that opening a tin should be simple.

Raggles has the biggest fangs I have ever seen on a cat!!
I had just "popped" the ring-pull on the tin, so he had mannaged to get a good grip on the tin edge with his teeth. I caught him just has he was on his way outside to the cat run with it!!

Storm isn't interested in the tins. He much more prefers my food, regardless of what it is! I make these breakfast muffins with raisins in and I'm forever running around in the morning with the plate as I just can't put it down!

Had an incident on Monday where I was making OH's sandwiches and I had my chocolate milk on the table behind me, I look round to see where Benji is, and Storm sticks his paws in the butter on the bread, so I turn around to pick him up off the counter and stick him on the floor, and there Benji is sticking his paws in my choc milk! I had choc milk pawprints all over the flat! I swear to god they are already doing co-ordinated attacks on poor defenseless me :p

Well, Monty 'took the biscuit' yesterday morning - he only ran into the house with a live magpie!

He did a circuit of the living room with me chasing him, shouting 'OUT! OUT!' - thank goodness he didn't drop it - and he ran back into the garden. Five minutes later - crash! squawk! - the magpie was on next door's roof chattering indignantly, and one of the patio pots was smashed, flowers and compost strewn about. Monty was sat chewing feathers with huge eyes.

I think that once he'd caught it (he must have moved like lightning!) he didn't really know what to do with it. Still, as far as he was concerned, it was the best thing ever, and he was cock of the walk for the rest of the day.

Oh yes, if Hector yawns when we have visitors they tend to go pale if they have just been playing with a teaser with him......

Yeah, a magpie eh ? Erm. We have fat wood pigeons and the one thing my housemate doesn't like is the boys birding once the garden is cat proofed. Ah, nature, I say.

Monty got his 'elementary' hunting stripes at a very young age, keeping the house free of flies almost from the moment he arrived at 13 weeks.
He mastered 'intermediate' a few weeks ago when he did some very successful mousing in the cellar. Now it seems he's moved on to 'advanced' - large flapping birds. Larry runs round after his brother, enjoying the chase, and wishing he was as quick.
