Storm and Benji updates
Hi all,
just wanted to show you all some pics of how the boys are developing! They get on like a house on fire, they have from the start. Storm is a doting big brother and cleans Benji, sometimes Benji even just stickshis head in front of Storm when he is cleaning himself so he gets a good clean too (two of the pics show Storm grooming Benji).
Benji is definitely becoming the more dominant one of the two, whereas Storm before got VERY overprotective of the top platform on the cat tree, Benji tends to sleep up there now and will bop Storm on the head if Storm tries to get his own way. The only thing that Benji really backs off from is when Storm warns him off eating out of his bowl while he is eating or trying to take his chewy from him. He doesn't actually hiss, but blows hard out through his nose so the sound is similar but not as harsh.
Storm is VERY intelligent. He has learned how to pull down the handle of the back door, luckily out of habit it is always locked! He also knows that when somebody walks up the steps they will be coming through the front door, or when our neighbours cats go round the corner he runs to the back door. Obviously the cats don't come in the garden but it shows his great sense of direction! Benji obviously isn't too bothered with being clever yet, he much prefers running around like a lunatic or pouncing on his brother, and it's really sweet to see them playing together.
Benji when he arrived weighed 1.1 kilos, and 6 weeks on weighs 2.55 kilos, and is putting on between 200-250 grams a week. He has grown by about 4-5 inches too so is no longer a baby! He is losing his kitten face and starting to develop his MC features which is lovely to see, his paws and tail are getting bigger too. Storm now weighs 6 kilos and according to the vet is a fantastic weight, not overweight or underweight, and the vet himself described him as 6 kilos of pure MC-muscle! His muzzle seems to be a bit more pronounced since we got him too, but it's difficult to catch on photo. All the vet nurses thought he was dead handsome when he went in for a weighing, can't blame them can you Louise?! He is getting thicker and looking more in proportion, when he arrived he was longer and slimmer, very adolescent-like, but he is really filling out. I somehow can't imagine that he could actually grow for another 2 odd years. he will end up being HUGE if he continues!
Benji is probably ever so slightly more attached to me, but because he is a kitten doesn't have much time for cuddles and much prefers investigating or play-hunting. Storm much prefers Marco, although I do get lots of snugs too, it's Marco he runs to the front door for. It's soo cute how he casn tell the difference between me and Marco getting home, and gladly runs to the door when Marco gets through the door!
Hope you all enjoy the pics of the boys, Storm is more difficult to get good pics of as he always moves the second I hit the button, naughty boy!

Storm isn't too keen to get wet but will glady get soggy in the sink! I'm forever cleaning cat hair out of the sink and bath tub..
The pick with the tickling stick is literally after them having had it for five minutes! I had just bught it from the vet surgery for them and they destroyed itMummy to;

Fantastic pics and great update. What is it with coonies and sinks? The flat on back, paws in air, tummy rub one looks very familiar as well.
Can't wait for next update x

Storm is such a big soppy boy, he follows us from room to room. His favorite place though is in the kitchen on the worktop watching us. When we pick him up when friends are round he deliberately does this stretching and a huge yawn, I swear he does it to show off his lovely length and huge fangs :D His fangs have put a few of our friends off actually!
I was awoken this morning by a kitten the size of a female moggy jumping on my legs (even though they were still) with all claws blazing!
Yes the herat shape is actually gravy stains, I always make sure he has no actual food in his nose or around his nose, but we are now trying to encourage him to clean the gravy off himself as I'm scared he would get used to me cleaning it for him three times a day!Last edited by missye87; 14th July 2011 at 01:40 PM.
