Thread: Cat thief's operate in your area!!!!

Its been a long night so I will start this thread with an apology to anyone's head I have bitten off in the last four or so hours; I will explain in full .............. lets leave it as I am SOOOOO FLUFFING LUCKY to still have Buddy now that I have been rather emotional and will fully explain.

I've tried and tried to type this but its probably me being emotional but keep loosing what I've put!

Buddy has an outdoor run than he can access from the house freely. He chooses to sleep out there most nights and last night was no different. He came in about 9pm, ate, used litterbox, cuddled, checked his FB, and then off he went about 11pm. Said Nite Nite to him about midnight and went to bed knowing he can come and go as he pleases, but always in to wake the humans and take over their beds about 6am.

Well, Ive not been well this last few days hence not being on line much and I am so glad now that I have been sleeping so light. Got woken about 2am by a cat fight under my bedroom window (bedroom at front of house, cat run at back) Looked out window and there were a couple of lads in the road with a cage. There was a horrid scratching noise on my front door and really sounded liked a cat crying, so stomped out of bed not thinking to get fully dressed or put my glasses on, opened the front door and Buddy flew at me claws and teeth blazing, shaking, hissing and basically scared! The lads in the street ran off.

Took about an hour to calm Buddy down and settle him in my sons bed (rare treat)............ then it hit me - how was he at front door?

Got dressed and put glasses on, went down for a look. His outdoor run had been opened from the outside, there was what looked like cooked chicken and beef on the ground and kibble. Not getting into the debate about feeding as this is not the time nor place but not things my cat would have. Looked at back gate and it was open. Either I have the Houdini version of MC or there was some not devine intervention here.

Anyone who has Buddy on FB will have seen his status's about his little adventures over the last few days and am I sooo glad of these now!!

It struck me like a lead weight - someone tried to steal Buddy!!!

Call the police. Please. They need to know and they may be able to identify the culprits immediately.

So glad Buddy is safe and well. I lost one of my girls 2 years ago ( I believe to theives..!) It's such a sad thing to happen as you never know what's happened to them. I always hope that she had been stolen to go and live with someone who wanted her soo badly and i pray that she's lording it up on someones warm radiator being fed chicken and all the treats she could possibly want.. :( xx

OMG Catslave, what a horrible shock for you and Buddy. Very fortunate that you woke up. I hope Buddy gave them a good slashing as he got away. Do call the police about this.

It might be as well to keep Buddy indoors at night, or whenever you are not around.

I was about to write the same thing, maybe you should try keeping him indoors at night from now on?
