Its not what it seems....!
None of this is as it seems,I have just been told that this year I am taking over from big bruv Merlyn & doing the xmas tombola for the cats that don't have super homes yet & yesterday mum got in a panic, she kept muttering about lots to do & lots of things to get wrapped up with not many weeks to do it in so here we are starting to get prepared, little & often & we will get there with my help of course, you see my paw can come in very handy to hold the paper because she forgot to cut the sticky stuff & they try to make out we make things hard for them, well I ask you, might have done while I was a young lad but since I grew up,well thats different, could all change though.........

Haha Jackie, lovely pics, your cats always look like they've just had a good brush, puts me to shame...!
Looking forward to seeing pics of the Xmas tombola with one of your lads doing his job and lapping up the admiration x

Hi Louisa, feel no shame Shimba hasn't had a brush near his coat since the show nearly three weeks ago & because we are doing some DIY around the house at the moment I haven't even given him or any of the others their quick going over with the slicker brush so thats two of us not doing coat duty ....!

Blimey Jackie doesn't look like he's not been brushed for that long, he must be naturally good-looking!
Monty won't let me near him with the comb, I can only get away with it when he's fast asleep but even then I have only a small window of opportunity before he's on to me *sigh*! It was much easier when he was little. Very highly-strung creature. He does manage to keep himself knot-free apart from a couple of knots on his chest which we are just going to have to live with. But he looks like such a scruff...nothing that just a little comb wouldn't sort out...Monty, come here!! Might have to start bribing him with prawns.

I can just imagine Monty disappearing into the beyond with you still waving a comb behind him in one hand & a prawn{king size of course in the other}bless.....
Thats where I have found the slicker a big help, for some reason they think it is a back scratcher & both Bruce & Welly push their head right into it so by having them laying around in different spots & just picking them up & giving them a quick flick for some reason they don't associate it with grooming, just hasn't happened recently with other things going on. I think with Shimba having a pretty short coat on top works to his benefit, just wish he would grow a ruff even if I did have to comb it daily....!

That's interesting Jackie, I actually have a slicker brush but tend not to use it because it doesn't go all the way through the coat. But it would certainly spruce them up. I'll give it a try!
