I know exactly how you feel. I will be so nervous on the day of my kitten's OP. I've heard it is much easier for the boys - I've never had a male, until now so I have no idea. I am planning on one month from now. I hope everything goes well well for your little angel and I'm sure it will

Think it goes back to when I first had MC's & the neutering by age was 8 to 9 months on the contracts & at work & with a breeder we had very in depth discussions on the why's & why nots & the simple explanation that a breeder gave was that they were fast growing cats but very slow to mature & way back then some felt that it was to the cats benefit to give them a little bit longer to mature up,something that has gone completely by the board now with a lot being done at a lot earlier age but as you know from other threads on here Candes about the same subject I feel guilty at having one of my boys done at 6mths because he would ride anything although he didn't spray or smell & he is the only one who has ended up with a kitten head on a mature body so watch this space with a certain little girl unless there are any signs of problems May/June she will be coming to work with me,but....!

Well folks,I phoned the vet today & Tia is booked in tomorrow morning, she reckons its best to get her done before she starts her first heat cycle.I can see its going to be a long day......

Does anyone remember how long it takes for the fur to grow back to normal?

    Hi folks...
Thats my baby home, poor wee soul, everything went well, she hasn't stopped eating since

The vet also advised in the next 2 weeks to get her on adult food, don't want her getting fat!

She weighed in at 2.7kg which she said was ok,btw she is playing with a box in the hall so it couldn't have been a scary experience!

HAHA I will tell her Candes,I said that as well, she said because she got spayed it will keep the weight down, but I will keep her on the kitten food until about 9months-1yr.Try & monitor her weight then put her on the adult food.
