New Years Eve baby
After waiting forever we brought Jax home yesterday. He is a beautiful little red tabby and white male.
He is 11 weeks, 4lbs and such a sweet gentle boy. He is adjusting to our home much better than I thought. He loves to cuddle and seems very comfortable with us. I have him in my bedroom for a few days. He had an accidental meeting with my black lab that unfortunately, did not go well. My dog came into the bedroom when my daughter was holding Jax. He was actually very gentle but Jaxhissed and jumped off my daughter onto the bed. He was fine shortly afterward but now I'm anxious about their next intro. Jax slept in our bed last night. He is the sweetest thing, very gentle, but I did wake once because he bit my nose! Im going to try to get some cute pictures that don't include me in them to post.

Awww. what a way to end the year, a new bundle of joy.
Although he wasn't keen with your dog now, once he adjusts to his surroundings and the smells, I am sure he will be fine with the next introduction. He still is a little disoriented, new people, smells and surroundings.
Can't wait for the pictures of Jax. I want a Red boy next. They're sooo cute...okay, they are ALL cute.

Happy New Year! What a great present to begin the new year with. I bet Jax will be best friends with your lab. Our dog Angel was 3 yrs old when we brought our 12wk old moggie kitty Storm home. After a few days of Storm being fearful, they became fast life-long friends and did everything together. Storm thought he was a dog. May you have many happy & healthy years with your furbabies.

Thanks for the responses. He's getting tired of being restricted to my room and has bolted through the door twice. The second time he came to within 6 feet of my dog who is HUGE and who barked at him. (because frankly, I think he was shocked to see the kitten) Jax freaked out and ran into my daughter's room. He didn't hide under the bed. He let me pick him up and didn't seem traumatized. Tomorrow is day 3. I'm going to try again. I think it will be easier for him when his tall cat tree comes and he has a place of his own that he will feel safe.
