    Spill proof water bowl?

    Hi,

I have a question that I hope you experienced MC owners can help me with.

My MC Marquis has this habit of pushing his water bowl around and thus splashing the water all over the floor.
I don't mind cleaning up after him, but I worry that when I am at work, he doesn't have any water because of that.

So, do you any any suggestions as to what to do?...buy a really heavy bowl? if such a bowl exists... or is there something else?

I guess I always could glue the bowl to the floor

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Ive got a large stainless steel dog bowl, but I nearly went for a large ceramic dog bowl on the grounds that they are pretty heavy and tend to be quite flat.
Only reason I went for the stainless steel one is that it was already in the house.

    Just a random thought.
As a 'bodge it' job you could always get a section of marine plywood. Cut out a hole the size of the water bowl in it and place that on the floor with the bowl in the hole. Cats would be stood on the marine plywood so wouldnt be able to push the bowl along.

I'm going to have to look at something like that too I think. Currently the cats water dish is an icecream container in teh kitchen which fits just under the lips of the doors on the cupboards. Probably pretty hard to push around.
But outside in what will be the cat run, I'm actually doing to dig a hole for the water dish which will be a large flat tray, so that it sits flush and he won't be able to tip it over, but can play in it all he likes.

This is the sort of thing I was thinking - it has a rubber bottom so can't spill. My cat breeder told me not to use plastic bowls - only metal or ceramic.

    HarryMC, not a problem

Yep I heard not to go plastic too. Apparently it can harbour germs when it gets scratched , whereas ceramic or stainless steel wont. Plus I tend to soak & wash out their water bowl with very hot water which might warp a plastic one.

You can get travel water bowls for dogs that don't spill. I have one for the car but I can't remember where I got it. If you type in travel water bowls into google they will come up where you can buy them - Think Amazon do them.
