Height of Maine Coons

I've been researching Maine Coons for about a month now, in preperation for a couple of MCs I plan on building a nice big tree for them. I cannot seem to find the average sitting height of these cats. I keep seeing 18 inch height, but I think that is standing height and I think sitting height will be more. I want them to be able to have plenty of room to sit and stretch on the different levels without feeling cramped. Can anyone help me out with this dimension?

Also, what's the approximate standing height of a 14 week MC? I plan on getting a Glacier Point for Cats fountain, the large one, and don't want it to be too tall for kittens. Thank you for any help.

Measured Whiskey with some difficulty as he kept chewing on the tape measure. He is now 13lbs and at 10mos in the sitting position is about 17" tall to the tips of his ears. Our kitchen cabinets are 18" between them. He sits under them just fine with space to spare. On our cat tree there is 18" between the 3rd & 4th tier and he sits there too without a problem.

As for the fountain, if you get it and find it too tall for the kittens, just use a bowl until they can reach the fountain without problems. They grow in a blink.

Whiskey came home at 14wks old and couldn't jump onto the tiers of his cat tree but tried a few times every day. By 18wks of age he was a pro. His favorite perch is the top tier. We also got a standard size litter box for him when we brought him home and within 1wk he was going outside the box so we then bought the biggest size so he wouldn't out grow it and he was fine.

I thank both of you for your input. This will help me give my future cats a tree that lets them be comfortable at any level they decide to perch on.

Sorry this has to be in feet & inches but it was the only metal tape I could find to do some measuring with on my own & just the cats to help,so as close as they would let me do it bottom bed 2ft,middle bed at 3.5ft & top one 6ft,if you add about 3" on to each for the height of the sides of the bed you will know roughly what size they can cope with,our new babe makes the top bunk with no problem although she does have the sense to go up in tiers one of the last two babes used to jump from floor to top at about four months of age,that was a heart stopper especially if he misjudged & hung from the edge...!

As far as how high they can jump it seems to me thats not size related .In fact the lighter the MC is the easier it is for him/her to jump.

Truth is though........Some are just better at jumping than others

Silver is very long but also heavy (9lbs ) so he cant jump up as far as nero who is smaller .

At 19 weeks Nero could jump onto the worktops
My older MC floyd however is something of a jumper specialist. He was on the worktops at 13-14 weeks . He weighs 8kg ish but can get up almost anything including doors

Its not a good picture but he is sitting on a four inch ledge and the only way is straight up !

Astounding how high these creatures can jump.

My Samantha at 15 lbs could leap to the top of a 7 foot bookcase with only a foot of space between the top of the bookcase and the ceiling.

The MC is obsessed with being high up. Monty now lives on top of the 6ft bookcase, and is ever so pleased about it. He leaps up via the table and if I am standing in a convenient spot he'll jump down via my shoulders. If we leave the loft ladders out, they will climb straight up there and hang out on the top rung. If the hatch is left open, they have been known to get into the loft, which is all very well and good, plenty of stuff up there to root around in, but they will NOT come down again. Lots of messing around with towels and treats, it takes ages!!!
