Yes, sometimes. It's a sign of affection. No, really. Cats don't let you near their faces unless they trust you.
Two of mine are headbutters & one of those is every time he comes on your lap...x
Two of ours do too - and Sunshine rubs the side of his mouth on us too! He's quite 'rough/over-enthusiastic' with it at times at times but he's just being affectionate (at least that's what I tell my dad when he's trying to dig out his fingers to 'play' with in his mouth!!
Ours all do too .... specially when they want something! Marco in particular will come to me when I'm sitting at the computer, put a paw on my shoulder and headbutt my elbow - c'mon Mum, I'm hungry
Little Minnie does it, preferably when it's inconvenient. She headbutts my hand when I am writing, or refilling the drinking bowls from a water jug.
Our tom Theo headbutts whenever he wants attention. He will butt heads/faces, legs, arms, hands, whatever is at the right level.
Rasputin headbutts when he wants attention, particularly if he's brought a toy to you and you've ignored him...
Lol yes! Daisy even flicks your hand up like a dog does with it's nose. Fred is a bit over enthusiastic with his butting and has left me with a fat lip before, he also likes to wash my face :)
Whiskey loves to do this too. He'll headbutt your head and then turns on the purrs and rubs his face all over your head. If you don't turn your face away, he winds up stuffing his nose up your nostrils. He only does this whenever he is in a loving mood.
