Food 4 Cats ceased trading!

Sadly it seems that Food 4 Cats is no more :(
I got this email this morning when chasing up on an order I placed.

I had the email too - very shocked but I am hoping there is another supplier out there as I don't want to feed anything else other than raw.

We have a supplier near us called Berriewoods but we need to add organ meat and bone to their food as it isn't a complete diet

Just come home to find this too - how disappointing.

We have a fair bit still in the freezer but after that I think we may just go with feeding him raw meat supplimented by his biscuits which have all the nutrients he needs. Would really like to hear if other people find new suppliers though...

I hope they are ok, they are lovely people...

Well... the website was up this afternoon but now looks like they have been hacked!

Someone out there got something against raw only diets?

A friend of mine has been speaking to a company that produces raw dog food and they have agreed to produce a raw cat meat that is complete.

It will be shipped overnight in cooler boxes with freezer blocks and the meat will be shipped fresh so you will need to freeze it when you get it. I have seen the ingredients etc and it looks great (they are working with a vet on it) and all food is human grade so no issues there.

As soon as I have more info then I will post details on here. In the meantime, any cats that are on raw can have a mince called Prize Choice, which is frozen raw meat and also contains a good amount of bone and you will just need to supplement with heart, liver and kidney in the short-term until this new supplier is sorted out.

I found some today at our local supermarket. 100% prime mix of kangaroo, steak and liver. No preservatives.
And also the local pet shop have some fish so I might get some of that too.

I hope you can all find another supplier.

I am very disappointed with Food4Dogs/Back 2 Nature. I placed an order with them but did not receive my Wild Rabbit. I was not informed there was no Rabbit otherwise I would have chosen an alternative product.

I received an email as did all other customers that they are not longer carrying on with the business and that the Wild Rabbit will be delivered to all customers awaiting it.

I have emailed on several occasions and I have left messages on the answer machine (since last night the number is no longer is existence) to which I have received no replies.

Hopefully they will answer me at some point and I will get my outstanding order. Such a shame as the food was excellent, best I have bought for my dogs.

Anyone else still awaiting food from this company??

Has anyone had any luck with any of the suggested replacements?

We have looked at the companies and some are cash and carry's where you have to spend £60 all at once, or massive bags of the stuff and our freezer is just too small....

Similar problem here - we're currently scanning the second hand adverts sections of local papers for a small chest freezer.

Natural Frozen Pet Foods - Prize Choice - The Natural Food for Healthy Animals is the one we have used. The big bags of fish fillet Frozen Wholemeat Fish Fillet Chunks really do not last long :D
From that webpage, at the top there is a link to BARF club ( Heheh, that could have been named a bit better bit still.. :) ) which also does raw food.
Delivery has been very quick and comes in a polystyrene box, ala Food 4 Cats style.

So far, Storvenn and Loki enjoy heart chucks, fish fillet, beef chunks and are a bit 50/50 on the breast fillet.

Great - that was the site we preferred but I am not sure about whether we can do the £60 minimum order, in fact, I am pretty sure that even if we stopped freezing food for ourselves we still wouldn't - unfortunately we just have a shelf at the top of our fridge type freezer. Good idea about scanning the small ads, I think that is the way forward here.

We are currently just buying him fresh meat and cutting it into chunks, and actually, he seems very happy, possibly more so than the minced food. He eats better than we do ;)

After carefully considering all the suggested replacements, I have finally decided on Berriewoods. There doesn't appear to be any minimum order that I can see. Plus their blocks of frozen meat are a pound in weight.
