Petition about road accident involving a cat

I was reading the sad posts by Musicalife and Fozzie and I suddenly remembered a petition I signed this week. I would not normally post such a thing however this is a subject very close to all our hearts.

The UK Department of Transport is being petitioned to make it a legal requirement to report a road accident involving a cat. This will bring the law into line with

what is required for dogs, horses, sheep, cattle, pigs, goats, ass and mules.

I know only too well how heartbreaking it is to lose a pet and to realise it was not even accorded the dignity of being reported.

What a wonderful petition! Sadly, in America there are no laws regarding this, which is a shame! I've never lost a pet this way, but have friends that did, which makes the loss so much harder. Good luck UK-DOT!
