Slugs

Just reading about cats being involved in accidents and finding them, then watching a TV report about the number of slugs in our gardens this year, reminded me of finding one of our cats in a very sorry state foaming at the mouth, rushing him to the vets and discovering he had eaten slug pellets and been poisoned - he didn't last the night. This is about 15 years ago now, so I'm wondering if today's slug pellets are still as harmful to pets. Just thinking that more people may be using them this year and worrying about cats that go out of the garden. My two stay in the garden so hopefully not such a worry but judging by the amount of slugs in our own garden there are a lot of them out there.
