Our "little boy" is little no more
Our youngest MC, Zephyr, turned 7mos old over the weekend. Since he has been looking so much bigger all of a sudden, we decided to weigh him. My wife didn't quite believe me after I did it so she did it too but got the same weight: 13 lbs! He was weighed at vet at 5.5mos and was 9.9lbs, and I weighed him again around 6mos and he was 10.5. So he put on around 2.5lbs in just one month. I find this rather staggering. Our bigger girl is around 14lbs, so he is getting close. Furthermore, our "big male" who is 18lbs at 18mos, was only around 12lbs at 8mos. Quite the growth spurt. How did he do it you ask? He eats incessantly of course!! (I note that he is not at all fat as he has put on lots of length recently as well--though he is also not as overly lean as some kittens of his age are.) It is a bit sad to realize that kittenhood is coming to an end.

Kittenhood isn't over. It got a whole load more exciting as he throws 14lb behind everything he does. My girl is the same size & still has that kitten glint in her eye as she runs around chasing the other cat & the dog.
