Bath day!
Well, I just gave everyone a bath! 2 Beagles and a very unhappy Maine Coon. I washed Miss Ginger and toweled her off as well as I could. I was seriously thinking of using the hair dryer on low to dry her more, but that might be too much for one day! I even gave myself a shower to get the smell of pet wash off of me. Everyone is glaring at me :( I even tried to win them over by giving them treats, but alas they are on to my trickery and it may take a few hours to forget the horror of warm soapy water. I am hoping Ginger gets better with bathing as there is no hope for the Beagles. Happy Thursday!
Ginger is sunning in her bed and grooming herself whilst keeping her eyes on mom! Gotta love them!

after brushing her teeth and potty training her to use grown up toilets, and giving her a manucure.... now it's bath time!
I gave one bath to Neevie when she was little (we got her VERY young, about 3 weeks before babies are normally allowed to leave as her Mam had an infection and couldn't feed her, so I guess whether she was with us or the breeder didn't really make much difference - she hadn't yet learned to groom herself, she got scruffy!) she didn't seem to dislike it too much, though didn't really feel like staying in the water any longer than necessary.
Never did it again, though - coz now she's taking care of it herself - repeatedly - constantly - obsessively....

haha You put it that way and I feel kinda silly! We are empty nesters as far as the kids go, all grown up and moved away. I do love to spoil my little girl Ginger and she does give me so much joy! If I try to teach her how to talk, call the men with the white coats and the butterfly nets! LOL

This is not Gingers first bath. When I brought her home from the breeders, I thought it was a good idea to leave her in her carrier overnight. The hubby and I went to bed and a half hour later she was throwing a fit. She had a poop explosion in her carrier and I had to give her a bath and clean the carrier in the middle of the night. I spent that first night with her sleeping on my chest in the family room. I felt so bad for the little pooper. I had a male Coon that I never bathed and he was a bear to bath when he was older. I would have the groomer give him a lion cut! He was so cute, but he hated car rides too!

Oh yes I did that with all my cats too - except Neevie, coz she wouldn't have it - it makes for much quicker bonding, I find - I don't know may be something about relating "safe" with "mummy's smell"....
hey no! don't feel silly, I think it's great! I just laugh coz it's sooooo cute :-D and I'm sure Ginger, for all her glaring, enjoys all the attention, too! ;-)

What a beautiful cat you have!
There was only one time I attempted a hair dryer at bath time. Poor little guy scrambled away, huddled in a corner, squinted his eyes and pathetically tried to fight it off with his outstretched paw. Since then I wait until a sunny day so after towel-drying we can sort his fur out in the sun.
I don't know if it's just my cat or if it's all MCs, but a grudge is never held long, thankfully!
