So sorry Alekto I had a horrible feeling more than us might have suffered from the smell but it also had another twist to the tale but firstly what we think "made it happen" was a combination of the heat & being too quick off the mark with the fly catching, she has had more than her fair share of meat on the wing these last couple of days & you never know some of them could have been sprayed before thinking they had escaped their death only to meet doom on the other side of the fence......
The twist to this tale is that having showered & shampooed her we knew someone was calling round to drop off some forms & as happens you are sure wherever you go in the house you can still smell s**t so told R we would give her a quick squirt with her texture spray that I only use on show days ,it has a lovely smell to it,normally that is,nothing, then I noticed it had a frothy top to it & never seen that before, took top off & all that was in it was plain water with just the faintest whiff of the previous contents, some rotten bugger at the show has either given me an old one of theirs filled with water or thrown out mine & done the same thing, couldn't believe it, if I had sprayed Ruby as normal before she went up for BIS I would have had a cat hat looked as if she had just come out of the bath, luckily because the BIS was running so quickly it was a quick comb & gone but also without the dirty bottom the next time I would have used it would have been at the next show just before she went for judging, same outcome so all these things do happen for a reason, the thing that makes me feel so sick though is that at the FiFE shows most people help each other out even with the grooming if they are in a muddle or loaning someone the products from your own kit if you know it will help,I have loaned that spray more than once just imagine if it was someone else's cat then going up & they had borrowed it I would have been mortified.I would like to think it was someone who couldn't afford to replace the product as it is not cheap but if they had asked I would have given it to them but at worse as someone else pointed out & that would have been furthest from my mind but that someone was jealous & out of spite wanted to spoil Ruby's chances, have never ever come across anything like that at FiFE shows but apparently it has been known to happen elsewhere but whatever next show kit is under lock & key & I will test everything even then before it goes near any cat & just thank my lucky stars that this cloud did in fact have a silver lining.....& I don't mean Rubys silver rear end.....!!!!!

It's quite amazing how low some people will stoop - it's very very sad So very glad that Ruby's OK and is sporting nice clean trousers now! xx

Rather horrible! Also it could have done some damage to Ruby's health. Spraying her with old dirty water, I mean... Shame on that nast bugger! :-(

Jackie that is the lowest of the low to do something like that ! Or dare I say jealousy on someones part. Thank goodness a disaster was averted. Well who ever did it shame on them and Ruby won out in the end despite what happened. x
