Sully is beautiful. Glad that he's settling in. Didn't have these issues when my boy was a kitten, but all MCs are different and as the others say he's probably taking just a bit longer to adjust to his new home and siblings x

Day two. Sully must have had a peaceful night because I never heard one squeak. He emerged from behind the sofa when I came downstairs and has been a lot more visible today. He's been playing with toys and has finally eaten properly. He's still tending to hide between explores and playing but he seems much more expressive today. Abigail has even come into the lounge and lingered when yesterday she would only shoot through after a wary look around for the interloper.
So, small steps but he's starting to emerge as the fun little fellow I thought he'd be.
And my Gosh, is he handsome. I think he's the cutest thing since kitten puss in boots in that Shrek movie.

Hi Englishman,
I am glad that Sully is settling in I have fostered many cats and I have had cats that will jump out of the carrier and say hello and then just wonder round the house without a care. Then I have had the cats which will hide, not eat and stay well away from you lol. I have had 2 cats that pretty much hid from me for a month, they did eat and use the litter which was good but it was upsetting a little to see they just wanted to hide from me :( But in that month I started playing with them and talking to them constantly, they came out of their shells and were the most cuddly things ever lol. So my philosophy is to just leave them be for the first week and then start to interact with them and they will eventually come out of their shell. I hope I don't have to do that with the 2 MC's I am getting in Feb but I am more than prepared for it and am happy I know what to do to draw them out.Last edited by AFK_Matrix; 16th December 2013 at 10:24 AM.

Day three and Sully is coming out of his shell. He'd still rather hide than interact, but he did come out and lie on a cushion next to me while I was playing videogames, with his paw on my leg. He's had a lot of visitors and admirers come over to say hello, and with a bit of cat-toy fishing has come out to play every time. Bob is great with him, and Abby is still scared of him, but she'll at least move through a room with him in it, though quickly and after a good scout.
He's eating much more normally, has peed and pooed in the litter tray. When he's eaten, he gets really energetic like a bunny on whizz.
He's such a little superstar.
He went upstairs this evening and freaked himself out when he saw himself in the floor length mirror in the bathroom. Much dashing around and falling over until he found the stairs to go back down to behind his favourite couch.

My house is pretty scary for a kitten, I suppose. What with the surround sound going like crazy: when I'm playing Killzone-Shadowfall his ears are on swivels. Still, he's going to have to get used to a bit of noise. Plus, I'm finally learning to play the guitar so he'd better get used to that too.
Today, Abbie has finally started to live in her usual spaces again, and Sully has been noodling about without a care in the world. He's even chased her around the house (he's playing, she's petrified) which is literally a case of the biter-bit as she had terrorised my (gone last March with cancer) 7 yr old moggie since 2009. It's actually quite refreshing to see Abs get a bit of what she's doled out in terms of frightening the other cats. She's a hand-full, and Sully isn't scared of her.
This kitten is an absolute treasure. he's done nothing but play since I got home. He's playing with Bob at the moment watched by Abs who's on the highest shelf in the room (it's a Burmese thing to be up high).
One more photo then I'm going to go play with him some more.
Mark.
