Hey there guys and girls
Sooo guess where I went today
Yep went to see the 2 MC kittens I am due to pick up end of Feb, and OMG SOOOOO cute!!! I found out for sure I am getting the 2 boys of the litter (YEY!) and they are 5 weeks old at the moment. They were shy to begin with but as you can see from the pics and videos they soon perked up lol. The breeder says that going by their paw size they are going to be big boys too which is great, it also looks like one of them may actually turn out to be a blue colour so that will be nice as I don't know how popular the blue colour is but I think it will look lovely.
So to stop the suspense lol here are some pictures and videos of the wee mites
And this first video is them trying to escape the basket LOL:

And this video is of them having a little ruff and tumbles hehe:

I so can't wait till February now lol!!
Oh and urr I think I underestimated how big the scratch post from Zooplus was!!!Last edited by AFK_Matrix; 7th January 2014 at 11:31 PM.

Hey there everyone,
I am hoping for a bit of advice from you knowledgeable folks as work has given me a curve ball lol. So work want me to go to France again for a week. This will come at the end of March, now by then I will have had my boys for a month and I will have spent that month with them as I am getting this time off work. I am hoping either a close friend or my mum will come to the house and look after the boys. But I am worried about leaving the boys so soon after getting them, what do you guys think?

I always use a cattery & have thought nothing of a new babe having to face it pretty quickly after us having them but was a bit worried about Billy as he is so people orintated,if we are around he isn't really interested in furrbies he likes two legged company best so was worried about leaving him more so as we had gone a couple of months since his arrival here but no problems at all, like the rest of our gang he soon made his prescence known with Auntie Gloria & Uncle Richard & like the rest when we arrived to pick up he said hiya nice to see you but you can leave me here longer if you wish so I would say get whoever is going to look after them round a few times after you have had them a couple of weeks & then don't worry....
The reasons I like using a cattery is that I know it will be a different regime to what I use but being in four different walls I know they will accept it,also know I won't be let down at the last minute by someone not being able to make it,also know if there is an emergency at any time I can drop them off & not worry will they be ok but most of all I know I am very lucky with who look after my cats,it may not be the most up to date cattery in the area but it is clean they are well looked after & most of all loved & I think wherever your babes are thats what counts, the one to one continues & they know they are still being loved........ will be interesting to know if you get the cold shoulder off of either on your return ...... bet that will be a longer week for you than them....xxx

Thanks for the opinion Jckkerrison its much appreciated and puts my mind at ease!! I think I will see if my friend or mum can help me out as I just don't want to be moving them out of the house etc when they have only been there a month and have settled in. Plus I have a couple more of these week long trips coming up so if this french one goes well I will feel happier doing those!! Also I was thinking that when I bring the boys home of just putting them in the Lounge for a few days till they get a little settled but I am not sure if this is the right step or if I should just let them have the whole house from the get go? I haven't ever had kittens so not 100% on how to first introduce them to the house lol.

The more rooms you let them into to start with the more you have to hunt to find them....!!!!!!
From the start mine have sitting room, hall & their own bedroom open to them, plus as we have a pen on the side that is a case of how quick they use the flap through, the boys took a while,Ruby had mastered it within a week but Billy beat the lot he was using it to go in & out of by the next day...which for a male I thought was very good going..... They are not allowed in our bedroom except first thing in the morning while we have first cuppa of the day or if one is poorly & has to have some extra arrrh treatment, same as the kitchen that is shut off but again while we are in there they come & keep us company especially Shimba who loves the window sill, they all have learnt that they can jump up there via sink but any other part of the worktop is a strict no no,mostly abided too but have had occasions when that rule has been forgotten by them, water bottle soon sorts it out again though....the main thing I think is to show them where their trays are going to be {I think it is brilliant how they seem to know where to go straight away, always makes me want to cry when you see thses little furries suddenly diving off to their room to go to the loo} & just let them have as much space as you think they can cope with......xxx

Thanks again, I am thinking I might let them have the run of the house, but I will keep my bedroom and the upstairs loo out of bounds to begin with. This is what I did with the foster cats and by now I am pretty confident where all the hiding spots in the house are lol. I even now know to look behind the microwave as I got really worried when a pair of cats I was fostering seemed to vanish for 2 days, got me very worried indeed and then had a light bulb moment and looked behind the microwave and there they were lol. Guess it was because the microwave gets nice and warm and its a nice dark corner behind it ha.
Oh and I think I may have sorted the names for the 2 boys One will be Kahn and the other Shadow, I just have to wait till I pick them up as I think one will be darker than the other and that will obviously be the one called Shadow.Last edited by AFK_Matrix; 10th January 2014 at 08:36 PM.

I'm soooo excited for you. I spent a month away from work to be home with Buzz and Baxter too. We chose two boys from the same litter. It's been so much fun - even though it comes with double trouble. The wrestling is endless as is the chasing each other through the house with wild abandon. They are 1-1/2 years now and still rambunctious but calming down some, thank goodness. With their size and weight they could certainly cause some serious damage. :0) When we travel for more than a week, my parents fly from Colorado to "babysit" otherwise we leave them in a pet resort. It was hard to find one that had condos and litter pans Maine Coon sized. We have never had a problem leaving them at the resort. As you will find out, they are not the usual cat but instead are the celebrities everyone wants to play with and hold. Buzz and Baxter like the car so that is helpful too as they travel with us sometimes when we go by car. We have our own business so sometimes I bring them to work. Well all this to say, you are in for so much fun!!! Enjoy every second.

heehee love the name Kahn!
well, you know, I've had a cat for 15 years before Neevie, so you'd think I would know where the hiding spots were in the flat... but then Neevie arrived to teach me.... she does have much more imagination!
Just this week end we panicked as we thought she had managed to sneak out (we live in a place with hunters and tractors and lots of very fast cars...) and then in the end very reluctantly went to bed leaving the back door opened in case she came back you know, lifted the duvet to find our Neevie flattened under it and completely mushed up. She looked at us like "hey, switch off that light, can't you see I'm sleeping? and do you really need to make so much noise can't you laugh a bit more silently?"
