Sounds like thyroid to me, my mom's old Coonie had it. At 11 years old I'd definitely have a full checkup done, and also have them check his teeth and get a cleaning if he hasn't had one. Our senior Coon Merlin was a rescue who had dropped to 6lbs and his teeth were hideously abscessed. My mom's other cat, an Angora, has bad teeth and already had two extractions and more on the way, so watch if your cat is dropping bits of food or not chewing properly. You may think he's eating enough but he may not be. Good luck with everything, let us know what the vet says!
