    Stitch has found her paws!

Well it's been nearly 2 weeks since Mum got Stitch. At 18mths old we were worried about how she would get on with Mum's other moggies. We knew she was shy and would need work so didn't know what was to come!! However, we need not have been concerned. After a day she was happy as larry. We can now stroke her, she pinches everyones food, plays beautifully and has stolen the prized sleeping spot (on the spare pillow next to Mum's head!) from one of the existing cats! She is wonderful and coming on in leaps and bounds quite literally! She is such a happy cat but we have yet to get her onto our knee for a proper cuddle yet. I'm sure it will only be a matter of time. 11 more sleeps til mine come!!

    Stitch has found her paws

I love that name Stitch,do you know how she came to be called that?.So pleased she is settling in,I have found it very rewarding with our oldest girl that we rehomed, have to say though it was nearly two years before she came onto our laps for a proper cuddle, very loving in all other ways always beside you but wouldn't do that final on your knee thing & stay but suddenly one day it all changed & now it is paws around your neck & just see if we can get a little bit closer for a cuddle,I spend my life trying to watch TV around her head. Look forward to hearing more about Stitch & of course your two babies, now how many sleeps did you say.....

I'm so glad Stitch has settled in well. Not long now for your babies to be home.

Hi Jckkerrison and scrapdragon! My Mum has already got a cat named Lilo so she called this one Stitch after cartoon film characters called Lilo and Stitch which my children loved! Good to hear from someone else who has taken on a cat rather than a kitten. The girls I'm getting are both older as well but are really full of fun!

Sarah was 6 1/2 months when I got her and I had no problems with her integrating into the house. She stayed in the room ( her choice) for 2 days and then cried to come out and that was it - she was out and about. She was the hissy one ( and still is) but she stopped after about one day.

Timmy was always good anyway and has been again with Zack but my other cat Tashie ( sadly she died not long after I got Sarah at age 17 yrs 10mths) they just kept about 2 feet between them and were fine with each other.

One thing is you dont have to worry about them getting into little nooks and getting stuck etc cause they are too big.

I have trouble getting her off my lap and she lies on me in the morning and wraps her front legs around my face and licks me.

I think she was easier than the kitten!

Great to hear Stitch is settling in we thought about an older cat but was a little worried how it would be with the dogs & the pensioners would have left home, kittens they can handle & boss around- well for a few weeks anyway

11 sleeps I would make the most of them

As much as we have enjoyed having two MC kittens over the last 1.5 years, I am frankly ready to have only adults around. Areas like our storage room have just had to be off limits to the kittens because of their size, and the adults cannot understand why they are not allowed into these rooms at times. The adults cause way fewer concerns.
