Thread: Party Animal

So Dixie's new favourite toys are... straws and balloons! I was enjoying a nice vodka and lemonade, complete with straws because it was the weekend after all lol, and put my drink down on the floor. Next minute, Dixie is rolling around on the floor with a stolen straw. For some reason, she absolutely loves them and has now learnt where they are kept - she looks at us in disbelief if we dare to go in the drawer and don't get her one! My husband then blew up a balloon to see what they'd do - Beau was very wary but Dixie immediately started batting it & then picked it up by the knot where he'd tied it and threw it across the room - very cute. We held our breath and waited for the inevitable, but when it burst she hardly even jumped. She then picked the burst balloon up and ran off with it, looking very pleased with herself, while Beau watched from a safe distance - I think she thought she'd killed it lol. Our new game is to blow a balloon up and put it inside their long rustle tunnel - she spends ages attacking it through the holes until she pops it, and then waits for another! Obviously this is a supervised game only and I make sure the burst balloons are removed. It is like the aftermath of a child's party in our house.
