Breeders: do you have any litters planned in the next few months?
Hubby and I have discussed when we would like to bring a MC into our lives and have decided that we would prefer around late December (post Christmas) or January onwards.
The reason we have decided this is to allow plenty of time to research feeding a BARF diet, find toys/litter trays/cat trees etc which would be suitable for a cat the size of a fully grown MC. I don't want to rush into getting a MC without the preparation and a bit more knowledge about the breed.
So I guess I'm asking if any of you breeders are planning litters in the coming months. If you are, could you let me know whether you have a website I can take a look at. If you would rather ask me questions about my home / family situation etc before giving me those details then please feel free to send me a pm and I'll be happy to answer them.
After looking at several websites we have decided that we would prefer a boy and hubby has left the coat colours up to me. My favourite is silver tabby, followed by tortie, then mackerel tabby. After that I have no preference as I like them equally... By the way can you tell me whether you can get male torties as I was always led to believe that you could only ever have girl torties.
Thanks for taking the time to look at this.

Yes - you can get male torties but they are pretty rare. I know a breeder who recently had a litter with a male tortie. She didn't check the sex of the kitten as she just assumed 'she' was female. It wasn't until the kittens were about 9 weeks that she made the discovery that 'she' was a 'he'

I will have kittens in the spring, no exact plans as yet, but from my two red girls with my brown and white boy. In the last couple of years they have given me a mix of red boys, red and white, tortie and white and tortie girls. I also have a silver tortie girl who this year gave me brown tabbies! I don't have a website, but you can find me on Facebook - Maineline Maine Coons.
