Very sad story of 2 much loved cats
My daughter purchased 2 Maine coon kittens from the same breeder. 2 different litters 1 year apart. The younger kitten died of FIP and HCM at 6 months old. The breeder, from Dundee, couldn't have cared less and more or less blamed her and her husband, 2 cats are or were their babies and were spoiled and very well looked after. Her beloved boy dropped dead this morning with suspected HCM this morning on the kitchen floor... He didn't even reach his 3rd birthday. Hearing my daughter breaking her heart again do n the phone is so hard and she is inconsolable that her beloved boy has gone. The vet certainly smells a rat and suggests some inter breeding going on. We have also filed a complaint with the SSPCA. I have no idea if these idiots are still churning poor wee kittens out to the unsuspecting public. I just hope no one else goes through what my daughter has gone through.

I'm really sorry to hear this, and feel whole heartedly for your daughter and the 2 kittens. I'm glad you have filed a complaint through the correct channels as I would hate to see anyone else being put through this kind of scenario.
This points out a real concern regarding 'Pop-up shop' breeders who don't really know what they are getting into and give breeders as a whole a bad name but are very hard to tell apart until you actually run into complications by which time they have moved onto something else.
I hope for your daughter and the family this is resolved quickly. All my best.Last edited by JamieHarding; 26th November 2015 at 05:00 PM.
