LOL, what we gonna do when they are fully grown :)
:arghhhh:
I have just weighed Simba too out of curiosity - the last time was when he was small enough to fit in the kitchen scales and he was about 2.7kg. This time we did it on the bathroom scales with my daughter holding him and then taking her weight away and he was 4.2kg but not sure how accurate that is but I can't believe he has gone up that much already - did think he was looking bigger though:LOL:
 that means Louie is a light weight then
Quite exciting this weight thing isn't it - don't ever remember bothering with the dogs - I will confess though Simba had just eaten and that could be the .2
Our male Zephyr went to vet at 5 1/2 mos and was 9.9lbs (~4.5kg). What turned out to be really amazing was that by 7mos (just 6 weeks later) he was 13lbs. That means he put on 3lbs in just 6 weeks between 5 1/2 and 7mos old. An incredible growth spurt of half a pound per week. He ate incessantly during that time. Now, at nearly 9mos, he is over 15 lbs. That means he already outweighs both of our girls. Interestingly, his frame is not noticeably larger than the girls, but he is much more solid than either of them. Our older male was only (?) 14lbs at one year, so Z is on track to be larger.
Ok, well it's taken me about 10 minutes to do this lol, but I put Harry on the digital bathroom scales and he registered 4.1kg, so about the same as Louis-Louis and Simba. He is also about the same weight as Poppy (my lovely little moggie) and doesn't she know it :) He's definately longer, my neighbour said the other day he reminds her of one of those bendy buses ! - nice eh lol x
At least they're all growing nice and healthily...
I will need to weigh Gryfn soon... he's got himself a nice big pot belly, though he doesn't pig out.
Wow some of your weights are impressive.
I got winston weighed yesterday at the petshop and he's 11lbs, or 5 kg.................of mischief!!! :AddEmoticons0091:
okay curiosity got the better of me! two confused kittens later and Hector is 4lb 4oz with Rufus being 3lb 3oz.
Now I don't know if I need to feed them apart but Rufus seems to be in the food bowls just as much as Hector.
Is there womer up to date? when did they have their jabs? some kittens take longer to get over the vacinations put then pile it on
The wormer is up to date and they have not had their jabs yet, but we think we may know the reason why............we strongly suspect Rufus is a girl!!!!
I am planning to email a vet I know quite well some pic's from work in the morning and wait for his reply!!!!
Did you get the cats from a breeder - I'm would be pretty shocked if a breeder got the sex wrong!

Seriously though Helen they should be getting there vacinations done
How do you mean part?
Louie has'nt had the Leukemia jab as he is a house cat to & Im still on the fence about that one.
I have been advised that as they are house cats and will not come into contact with any outdoor cats they only need the FE part of the FELV vaccine as we can bring both flu and enteritis in on shoes and clothes ect.
I work for in the animal health industry and have quizzed a few vets and nurses as to what they need to be jabbed for. Jon also advised me to get them chipped whilst they were under being done as this can be traumatic and painful for them.
I do have a question, When does a male maine coon stop growing? plus what is a decent weight for him?. I'm going tomorrow to the vet/groomers to find out and just curious?
I think about 3 yr old & up to 11kg :suprised: but not sure on that. Our old MC was about 7kg & that was heavey enough
Yeah, I read it was 4- 5 years until full maturity and anything between 13 - 20 lbs for male cats but could easily be more, and smaller for female cats. Whoa ...
