Thread: Is my MC (male) kitten a tortie/patched?

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and I am new to maine coon's too (not to cats though). Recently we adopted a silver white tabby MC from a breeder. The little one is now 4 months and 3 weeks (we took him in 2 weeks ago). He is such a softy and he is such a smart boy. When we adopted him, he was mostly silver/grey with 4 white legs/paws with some orangeish tinge around the mouth. But over the past 2 weeks his silver/grey is turning a slight brownish tinge and the orange around the mouth is spreading a wee bit along to the jaw.

My question is, what colour will he be. He is currently in the process of being registered so just want to know what the colour is. From my reading he has some tortie/patched traits (orange, white and silver/grey) but have been told that it is rare for males to be so. More of a concern is that tortie males tend to be infertile (which is making think twice about getting him a companion - he already has play pals at home, 7 others in fact).
