Thread: Fip

Hello, I have a question that I hope can be answered. I bought a male Maine Coon kitten from a breeder from Germany last year in September. I also bought a Maine Coon female kitten here in the USA and added her a week later. They bred then several weeks ago I took him to the vet for weight loss, legarthy etc. This went on for two weeks then the blood in the eye so took him to a specialty hospital two days ago and they diagnosed him with FIP. I had to euthanize him last night, my heart is broken, but the vets think he had it when he arrived here. Now the female is pregnant and not sure if he picked this up from the cattery in Germany or the cattery here. Is there anyone out there that can help me?
