    New Adult

    Hi
Hello I am new to this forum, so thank you in advance if anyone replies.
I am thinking of adopting an adult ex breeding Male cat, I have not seen him yet but seen photos and like him very much. However I have never had an ex breeding male before, just a male moggie. He has been neutered and is almost ready to be re homed. Any tips or thoughts will be welcome. He is apparently quite timid and not a very good ''lover'' hence re adopting him out from the breeder.

My first MC was a retired breeding queen, she certainly didn't want to be a mum as she killed her babes if breeder couldn't get there quick enough & she was turned on by other cats when she returned to the household fold hence rehoming her, I won't say our first 18 months was easy with her she certainly had a mind of her own & would bite as soon as look at you if in the right mood but the MC traits were also there & it wasn't long before we decided to risk having a kitten, something the breeder had also warned us about as she didn't think it would ever work but it did.
We accepted to start with she had to have her own space & although we loved her we also had to let her know we were actually head of our own home, she is the only cat we had to do "time out" with but we ended up with one the most loving cats you could ever have wished for & my evening was spent with her front legs wrapped round my neck & her head under my chin purring away, all the babes that joined the family while she was with us she took under her wing & was nannie until they found their paws in the fold, have never regretted having her even in our darkest hours at the start so would say have your boy, enjoy & hope you end up with the same luv bug we did {boys are normally more luv bugs than girls} let him have his own space if he needs it but give him strokes & love when you feed as you know he will be up for it then, pick playtimes with him but be ready for the interaction when he says he wants to play "now", have fun & good luck....xxx
