Introducing Dyman Dartagnan from Poland :)

Here is my third boy......

He will arrive in Singapore sometime late November when he will be 9 months old. That is the soonest he can enter Singapore based on the new ruling by the Agro Veterinary Authority of Singapore. Another 30 day quarantine after arrival and he will be home a couple of days after Christmas.

The breeder has placed Dyman with his mother together with another litter (kitten with white paws is 3 days younger than Dyman) so that he can socialize with other kittens and will not grow up to be nervous cat.

He shares the same father as my Merlin..... and seeing how big Merlin is, I am sure Dyman will be just as big if not bigger... especially when Dyman's mom is bigger than Merlin's mom.

I am already counting down and striking off everyday from the calendar.... still a very long way to go.

Guys! Thanks so much for all the lovely comments on Dyman. Very much appreciated.

Every morning when I wake up, I rush to the computer to see if I get news and photos from the breeder about him. It was tolerable when I was waiting for Merlin but knowing that I will miss out on bonding with Dyman the first 9 months of his life is a real torture for me.

Initially the breeder was not too keen on having to keep Dyman until 9 months old but she knew how much I love my cats, she made an exception especially since I acquired Merlin from her in 2009.

The agony of waiting...:sad2::stressed:

I dont know if this is any help but Sarah was 6.5 months when I got her and she bonded straight away. She is now the most affectionate of cats and I can do anything with her ( except for the wormer tablet I just tried getting down her throat - I can count 4 holes in my finger from teeth)

Cory1mc got her boy at 9 months and he has also bonded no problems with her. He jumps on her chest and wakes her up by rubbing his face on hers in the morning!!

Good to know, thanks for the info... but we'll see if Dyman is as affectionate.
As for Rocco and Merlin, they are not that affectionate with me but I have no problems with giving them pills/supplements.

What a beautiful boy - I can see how hard it must be having to wait for him!

He is lovely, worth the wait. Fancy having to do all that travelling - do they do well travelling all that way? He does look a big kitten especially compared to the other one that is only 3 days younger. Hope you get posted lots of pictures while you are waiting :smile:

I had thought of getting from UK as there is no age restriction (so long as the kitten is above 12 weeks old) or quarantine requirement but I love my Merlin so much that I am willing to wait that long for my new boy.

I will definitely share new photos as and when the breeder sends them to me. I just wish it is November right now!!!!

Merlin did a fair bit of traveling by car from Gliwice to Warsaw (around 3 hours). Then Warsaw by plane to Frankfurt (around 2 hours flight), then Frankfurt direct to Singapore (12 hours). He was 16 weeks old when he arrived in Singapore.

He was ok when I picked him up from the airport cargo section and handed him over to AVA at cargo area. He spent the night there and was transferred to the quarantine station the following morning when 30 day count down begins. I visited him every single day and watched him grow while in quarantine.

Wow, that's what you call dedication

I'd hate to be importing into australia as well.... quarantine restrictions really are strong.

Just received some new photos of Dyman at 10 weeks and 3 days old. He was sleeping when the photos were taken yesterday.

Considering his age, he is quite big... weighing at 2 kg. That news made my morning! :)

He is gorgeous... reminds me very much of Gryfn as I think he was about that weight too at that age...

Your Gryfn is gorgeous too!

I don't know how I ended up with 2 brown tabby and 1 red tabby since I have always wanted a Silver tabby, Black Smoke, Solid Blue and Blue Smoke and Blue tabby.

Maybe... just maybe... if I can afford it and the timing is right, I can get a fourth. :)

Since I have done it once before with Merlin (for the 30 day quarantine) which was tolerable, adding another 6 months of waiting before the 30 day quarantine feels like I am a massacist!:rofl:

He is soooo cute, he will be worth the wait.

He's cetainly growing well, and one of my favourite colours ! I wish it was November for you :)

He should be getting his rabies vaccination at the end of May.
His blood sample will be taken to be tested at the end of June... if all goes well, another 28 weeks from today, he should be entering Singapore.:stressed:

Photos taken on 31 May, aged 13 weeks and 3 days; 5 days after his rabies vaccination.
His tabby markings are becoming more obvious and his muzzle has lengthen as well.
Another 25 and half weeks to go....

Wow he is one handsome boy, I'd be looking for cheap flights to go and visit him by now:smile:

His 30 day (air-conditioned) quarantine here in Singapore would cost me slightly cheaper than cheap air ticket to Poland.
