Does Lilly sound like a Maine Coon?

In January, I was at a boat show with my family. A local shelter was there, and in one of the cages was the cutest kitten anyone could have ever imagined. So, of course, I got her. The shelter said she was a domestic long hair (dlh), and I had no reason to doubt them. I had never heard of a Maine Coon. When I brought the kitten home, one of my neighbors said "That's a Maine Coon if I ever saw one!"
    So the research began.
Lilly, my kitten, was said to have been brought to the shelter on September 23rd of last year, but when I took her to the vet, he argued with the date. Her teeth showed him that she would have been born only fourteen weeks before our appointment--so roughly in late October. I selected October 26th to be her unofficial birthday.
So, we'll say she's about 8 months old. Again, no way for me to really know. And maybe the vet was wrong and she was brought in September 23rd, so she'd be about 9 months old.

As I've read, Lilly has all the characteristics of a Maine Coon--a poofy, squirrel-like tail; long hair all over her body; hair coming out her ears in a lynx-like fashion; long hair between her toes; wide, bright eyes; and before summer, she had a thick 'collar' of hair around her neck, making her look like a little lion. She's also super affectionate, really really smart, and she doesn't meow--she makes little clicking noises, and squeaks. We keep joking that she's not a cat at all, but really some kind of squirrel.
However, I've also read that Maine Coons get fairly large. And I know the males get larger than the females--but Lilly, at 8-9ish months old, is only 5 pounds. Is this normal?
I'm not overly concerned with it, I was just curious. I've looked online, but most of what I've found is tracking the males, because they are the big guys.

    Thanks for any help

P.S. I'm attaching some pictures for everyone to see--She's also my profile picture.

Oh she is lovely! No wonder you couldn't resist! She looks like a MC to me but I'm no expert. My 2 MCs are quite different to each other in stature. Both are girls and one is very fat with a shorter body and the other is long bodied but a little leaner. Basically it's like having 2 large kittens in the house although they are both 2ish!

She doesn't make a ton of noise, but when she jumps around or wants your attention it is a chirping noise. She does seem to like water, as well.
She's pretty adorable, but I'm biased... I never knew what a MC was until I got her, so I thought I'd get some opinions from people who know their stuff!

Hi there, thanks for posting the pictures of Lilly she looks very cute indeed ! Again, I'm no expert but she does have some characteristics of the MC, so if I was taking a wild guess I would say she is more likely to be part MC. All MC's vary in size and yes females are normally quite a bit smaller but I would say 5lb was small for a 8/9 month old female MC. I know one thing, she is a very lucky little girl to have found you and you her
