Does one MC lead to another?
I have only been on this forum for a very short time, and Ive noticed that most of you have dont just have one MC!! I realise that some of you must be breeders, so of course you would have more than one or 2!! When I was doing research into Mcs before having Oscar, I read a few different articles that said once you had one, then you would have to have another, and my breeder also said that they were very addictive, I am finding this to be very true, and I have only had Oscar for two weeks!! (although I did have an MC cross before, but she was more MC in looks than personality) What I was Intrested in knowing, was there a defining moment where your first MC did something really cool or cute, and you said to yourself, Oh yeah Ive got to have another!? I would love to read your stories!

Like I said in the other thread, we got our 2nd MC kitten only a week after the first! due to some lucky circumstances, so we now have a pair of brothers.
We've just heard from the breeder that she has a new litter of kittens, and it's tempting to get a little sister for the lads! We won't though, or we will have really gone mad. We have tried to persuade my in-laws to have the kitten, so we can keep her in the family, and she could come here for holidays, but they have 2 older cats now and say they don't want any more (hmmm!) But we will probably only have MCs from now on, as they're so brilliant, I think we might be addicted....

My breeder has some Kittens ready to go at the end of August, so tempted, as they have the same father as Oscar, but must try and resist temptation!! Like you I have teied to pass the MC bug to my parents but to no avail!! mind you, they have an old persian cat who is a bit aloof and stuck in his ways, so probably for the best if they dont for now! Sp0ounds like a little sister for the lads would woul be nice........

Does one MC lead to another ?
We started off with the one ex breeding queen who to begin with was a very head strong character & would bite quite bad if there was something she didn't want to do but despite having some not so good MC charistics she still loved to be in the same room & chirrup away all the time.I played on the fact that she liked your company & if she done something that she really knew she shouldn't I used to shut her up in her bedroom for about 10minutes then let her out, make a fuss of her & carry on as normal.
Now this is what made me chuckle & decide yes I wanted another one, after only doing this for a couple of weeks I had a nasty nip episode from her, before I could pick her up she ran down the corridor & by the time I got there she was sitting in her bedroom doorway peeking round at me with a look that said "I have put myself in here, now what are you going to do about it".Brain power & she still carried on doing it whenever she knew she had done something wrong & you could just about set your watch to the 10 mins that the door would have been shut before she left the doorway & came back down to join you.Now how can you resist having more of these around you to see what they will get up to next, they all have different ways which will endure you to them but I do think six is the limit in our household.
As a matter of interest she is now 13yrs old & an absolute sweetheart but I wouldn't want the first couple of years back again although in that period we did go for MC no2,baby that time though.....

I bet you couldnt stay mad at her for long, could you?! glad to hear shes a sweetheart now! six MCs? your house must be full of lovely chirrups all day long, think I will definately have another one by this time next year!

No,you soon forgave her,she isn't known as cheeky China for nothing....Yep we do get plenty of chirrups & they all sound different so you know which one is talking but we do also get hissing fits when one wants to sleep & another one decides its play time.
At the moment all is peaceful as we have been away & they only came back from the cattery a couple of hours ago, hubby reckons that the neighbouring cats must all have been snorers so they have missed out on beauty sleep, making the most of it as no doubt tomorrow it will all be back to normal !

We had two to start with so they would have company and also as I am a little soft hearted I could not bear the idea of one being on its own when we were at work with no one to play with! They soon worked out I am a soft touch.↲Its really entertaining to watch them together and they both have their own personalitys too which I love.↲I can honestly say if I had not had two to start with I would be working on John for a second one we have talked about getting a third one as when we went to pick them therey the cutest red tabby who was being picked up that weekend and we both fell for him! I guess having MC's is like shoes you can never have too many!

Cheeky China, aawww!! Oscar doesnt have anothe MC buddy to play with (YET!!) so he playfully terrorises our mini schnauzer, teddy, sometimes teddy looks at Oscar as if to say, ohh, not you again, ohh go on then, do what you will!! The boarding cattery must really miss them all now theyve come back home! Helen, I do wish Id have had two together, but at the moment I work evenings, after my partner has returned home from working in the daytime, so its not as I have the reason to have two for company, because Oscar has always got some!! but never mind,Im sure that we will end up with a duo in the end, only thing is I worry about leaving it to long, in case Oscar gets used to being an only cat, and he wont accept another being in the house. I would really like a brown tabby boy next, although my partner likes the red tabbies too, and thinks that they will compliment each other nicely, colourwise!!

Does one MC lead to another ?
We had two siblings the last time, didn't intend too as we already had the four, best thing we ever done, great fun, what one doesn't think of the other one does, one weighed up very quickly that if he looked innocent the other one got the blame{exactly like children}you need eyes everywhere for the first eighteen months & then if you are lucky at least one of them starts behaving a bit more mature & the good thing is that because they entertain each other the older ones carry on with their own life the best part of the time...

Oscar Cat, please when can we see pictures of Teddy? Our friends have a miniature Schnauzer puppy and she wins the prize for the cutest ever creature, I even admitted she was cuter than our kittens. What a great name as well, Teddy! Love it!
