Will keep a look out. You can borrow Wicca's if you like, she's like a bloody tractor engine at 4 in the morning and I'm not exagerating when I say she actually makes pillows vibrate.
I can't always hear Freyja purr and have to get real close to her chest - have you tried that with Maisie?

Im waiting for environmental health to come round about the noise at some point as schrodinger is surprisingly "vocal" (wonder if this is due to his teeth coming in) and also the purring... my god the purring!! Bless, he did the simon's cat thing the other day where when i was asleep he put his paw (with claws just slightly extended) on my cheek.. true.. it was 10 minutes past my wake up time (read: his breakfast time) so its my own fault.. cute all the same

Thank you I have tried an amplifier as suggested but not a sound other than gurgling from the food she devours whenever possible.
Reassuring to know you will watch out for the missing part and indeed the kind offer to send an engine. I suppose they don't stock them in Pet shops but it could be quite interesting to call and enquire!!!!

Or what about the place where that missing favourite mouse goes too & you hunt everywhere in, out & under & then a few weeks later it is just sitting in front of you,I reckon it goes to that big hidey hole where all the odd socks would be found,if only we could find out where that is,but, because the toy is hard & unforgiving it gets rejected for causing an uncomfortable lump in that lovely soft pile & so gets returned to owner, now which catergory would a purr come into, softly softly they might keep it but if it vibrates well when starting up,like a cold car engine, then it could be classed as uncomfortable so fingers crossed in the next couple of weeks it could be ejected & returned to its rightful owner...
Will still keep a lookout around here though, could always put a note on our "missing board"at work !

We have 2 male littermate kittens and one purrs MUCH louder than the other. Also very different personalities. Neither purred at first, but as they get used to their new home their motors are coming on board bigtime.
Might be found cradled in your arms, cuddling, whispering sweet baby nothings ...
