Funny how 1 year ago I'd have said geeeze that's huge... but they don't look so big anymore... just other cats now look small... :-)

I know what you mean. When we took in our first cat, a MC mix that was stray in the neighborhood, we thought he was enormous (and so did the neighbors). However, he was just under 14 lbs and a very solid/muscular guy, so really not that long/tall. Given that our one year old "baby" is already 19 lbs, Karma really was quite small as male MCs go. I now think our girls look just normal and they are as large as Karma was (though nowhere near as muscular). Only 22+ lbs Remy looks large any more, and really not that large (of course picking him up is another matter--yikes).

I know what you mean. My two have just turned one year old and they look normal to me, but compared to other cats they are giants.
If I remember rightly MCs continue to grow for the first three years?

We were just reading the feeding instructions on the back of a food pouch: "2 to 3 pouches should be sufficient for the average 3kg cat...."
Hmmm, had our 6 month MC kitten, Tilly weighed at the vets last night. 3.3Kg!!
It’s the same here with us, they look normal until you see another cat next to them.

Yes I saw that piece about Stewie the longest cat. Tried to measure Laggs last night whilst he was dozing in a long line, but unfortunately OH 'pinged' the tape measure and Laggs jumped out of his skin! and we all fell about laughing, poor Lagg!! Eight months old this very day and looking huge.
