Fund raising Merl...
Merlyn took his mystery tombola along to the CPL xmas fayre today to help raise a few pennies to help those waiting to be as spoilt as him.Its the third time he has done it & getting to be quite a celebrity, people come along who have seen him before & to have a cuddle & others come along because they have heard about him, today one of the visitors decided 50p should be paid to have a cuddle with him {hubby did try to get in on the act as he is silver haired also but people preffered Merl..ahhh} so perhaps next time we could have a sideline going, although that person did pay up today & kept coming back to get his moneys worth ....
He done pretty well so hopefully it will add a bit more comfort for those more unfortunate little furries.

Lovely pics! He looks so ravishing.
And how well-behaved he is with all those strangers 'pawing' him.
What a great idea to charge 50p a cuddle. I hope your husband's self esteem didn't suffer too much.

What a fantastic idea, hope you raised lots for the CPL!
How good is Merl though ... if our Gracie & the Monster were in on the action there'd be just pictures of an empty bed, shredded wrapping paper, half chewed ribbons and disgruntled customers demanding their 50p back for the cuddles that didn't materialise!!!

That's so cute - what a well behaved lad Merl is! You wouldn't see Freyja for dust, she'd dive under the table and hide until it was peaceful. Wicca would lull people into a false sense of security by laying in the bed, bleating in this endearing little way for a cuddle, and then quick as a flash, you'll missing an earring/ large chunk of hair/ earlobe/ eyeball (only if not wearing glasses, obviously)/ and wondering when the lovely little creature in the bed was replaced by the Anti-Cat.
Wish I lived near Norfolk, I'd have happily donated 50p to give Merl a cuddle

What a star Merl is and how laid back is he!!
I guess his stand was the most visited given he was there looking handsome I would not have been able to resist him, I am amazed no one tried to catnap him I'm sure I would have tried to hid him under my coat
One little thing they dropped the "L" some time ago I found this out when being involved in a deal they were doing with one of my suppliers and made the mistake of putting that in an email..whoops
But well done Merl.

That's very impressive Jackie, wonderful that he is content to sit tight and soak up the admiration! As other posters have said, not many cats would do this! I hope your stall did well for the CP. Is that you in the red jumper, btw?

Fund raising Merl
Yep thats me in the jumper, not brave enough to appear fully on camera, just had a phone call from Merls breeder to say that a husband & wife team who spent a long time getting to know about him & his breed had already been in touch with her yesterday & had been to see all her cats, looked in on some babies & have just phoned this morning to say they were on their way over with a deposit.....Sales rep as well bless him,not the first time he has sold one of our favourite breeds & through that has made us new friends as well !
Thats weird about the "L" Helen,I still put it in when I need to find the site, can never remember the local one & forget to put into favourites everytime & all the vouchers come through to work with that still on,will ask about it.

What a fantastic cat you have there!!!!!!
I have only just been able to type after reading the previous entries and imagining shredded eyeballs and missing hair and absolutely wetting myself with laughter.
None of mine would put up with any of that and I can imagine the carnage that would be left behind if it was my three treasures in that situation - it would be like someone had gone through the place with a sword!!!
This comes to mind from Monty Python
