Going in for one, coming out with two, or three, or four...
When we went to meet Lucius we also totally fell for his brother, now called Louis I believe.
For a moment we (or at least I!) seriously considered getting both. Eventually the reality of the finances hit and we left Louis to be snapped up by someone else. The couple who saw the kittens before us must have had the same dilemma (but a better bank balance) because they ended up taking two when they had gone in for one.
Has anyone else had this dilemma and succumbed?

I have that almost every time I go to see a litter...
Not with Willow, but he was definately the one who stood out in his litter - the only one who was entirely blue tabby, with just a white collar and white socks. The other kittens had a lot more white. I was in love with Willow and only him, and lucky for me, he was still available.
When Indy's litter was born, my boyfriend and I had a connection with two kittens. In the end it was also the financial side that made us decide to take only one kitten and since he was the only red kitten in the litter, we chose him.
When Esme's litter was born, we were thinking about getting her and her sister, but in the end we decided that 5 cats is enough in our flat, so we chose Esme, the only black kitten in the litter. Both of her sisters were blue tabby and so Esme really stood out.
Last thursday I went to visit the cattery where Willow and Indy were born (the people behind the cattery have become close friends of ours and I go to do a photoshoot every time they have kittens). The kittens they have at the moment, are the halfbrothers of Willow (same mother). 3 white solid boys and 1 blue tabby boy. The blue tabby boy is 100% the lookalike of our Willow (except for the fact that Willow has a white collar and white socks, and his half brother doesn't). It was just like looking at "baby Willow" again... made me a little bit melancholic. Anyhow... as long as we're still living in this flat, our maximum number of cats will be 5 - a maximum we have reached when Esme joined the family. Though I guess I won't be able to control myself once we'll have our own house and lots of extra space...

We were torn between winston (black smoke & white) and one of his litter mates a female brown tabby. I would love to have bought the two of them but my budget did not allow for 2 in one day!!!
The lady who we bought the kitten of told us she had a father & daughter choosing a kitten some time back and the dad wanted this one and the daughter wanted the other. They ended up taking the daughter's choice and drove down the road. 20 minutes later they came back and took the sibling as wellLast edited by IrishKitty; 10th January 2010 at 04:57 PM.
